Scotts Turf Builder Rapid Grass Tall Fescue Mix

Follow the directions, water, and you will have grass. My dog tore up my backyard grass wise, and just looked terrible. Bought this bag, spread the seed around. Watered often, recommends twice a day. Got a fair amount of rain after I laid the seed, so that may have helped. About a week in you can see sprouts, around that two week mark it was growing well. Patchy, and seems slow. But it does grow. Can't control how it grows or patches. As for weeds, your outside, you may get weeds. It happens. I'm satisfied with the product. Will eventually buy another bag or two to cover a few other areas.

This is an excellent choice for fast growing grass! I’ve used it twice when I wanted grass to come in fast. It even grew quickly in a dense shade area under a tree! Little on the pricey side, but worth it in the end! The grass comes in thick, green, and beautiful! You have to do your part though with the watering!

My photos show before and after, about a 3 week difference. I'm relatively happy with this seed. As you can see, grass is growing. However, I have a few spots that just won't sprout anything and I think its due to increased shade in those areas. So if you have a shady area, this seed won't work I'm guessing. Also, it isn't as thick as I'd want it. Maybe in due time. I might put more seed down.

I wanted to wait until the grass had a chance to grow before leaving my review, and I’m very pleased! The germination rate was quick, the grass came in thick and healthy, and it’s already looking great in my yard. In the picture you can clearly see the 2-foot radius where it was planted, and it’s extremely healthy grass. So healthy and thick that even when mowed at 1.75” you can see the cat prints walking through it! Easy to plant, grows strong, and definitely worth it. Highly recommend if you want reliable results! This location gets direct sunlight the second half of the day which I was a little nervous about not being able to water it super consistently, but no problems with the heat!

The grass seed didn’t germinate. I keep it watered as instructed and covered with straw. Not sure what happened.

This is a very reliable combination of seed and fertilizer. I'm in SoCal and have been using this brand for years. Based on my experience, grass typically starts to germinate within a week, even in shady areas. It is great for patching, overseeding, or starting a new lawn. The grass looks great and thrives in SoCal's winter but also does well in the summer heat. This is my go-to mix.

Recently removed an above ground pool in my yard added a little bit of fresh topsoil through some of this seed down raked it in and lo and behold I can now vividly see where my pool was and where that was is the nicest grass I have ever seen The bad I have to do the rest of my yard to blend it but I highly recommend this is good stuff.
