Fits great in our space.
I purchased this for my husband for Father's Day. We've hung it on a sunny fence, and have kale and other leafy greens in it. They are sprouting now, and if they grow really well, I might consider buying him more later on. We could fit five more along the sunny section of our fence, which would be fantastic. It is a little expensive, compared to the other gardening we've done, but if it grows kale well, in not too long it will make up for the cost. Also, my husband already has a large garden plot (22'x25') and a couple smaller patches around the yard. For me, it's worth him getting more grow space without taking up more of our yard. We're vegetarian, so we eat a lot of vegetables. But our kids need to have space to run too!If you have a balcony or small yard, this would be a great way to garden a little. It won't feed a family of four, but for a hobby garden or for an activity with kids, it's great. We read a recommendation that you should water pretty much daily with this planter, which we're doing. If I have any major issues with that, I'll update this review later. Haven't had it long yet.

Cool way to grow some veggies and herbs
Cool way to grow some veggies and herbs. Doesn’t hold water well so you’ll have to water every day or every other day to keep your plants going. Make sure you use a good quality soil to give your plants the best start l.

Great for herbs
This seems to work brilliantly for herbs that don't need much water—rosemary, oregano, thyme. Anything else will die of thirst! The pouches aren't large so they can't hold much water and because they're suspended, evaporation happens from all sides. So either water constantly, put in partial shade, or use pots instead. Also, go with the green color as the black traps heat which I also think is harming my plants. Great idea, but only for the right things.

Plants need to be watered constantly
The idea is geat but the plants need to be watered constantly or they dry up and die. I spent lots of money on plants and lost them twice. I should have listened to the other reviews. I even lined them with baby diapers to keep the plants hydrated. Did not work for me.

Looks so pretty
I zip tied it to my fence. Ideal for lettuce and strawberries to keep bunnies away.. I did add some plastic forks to poke at any birds that may nip at my berries though. You will definitely have to water on hot days both in AM and PM.

Soil dries out immediately
So, maybe I'm doing this wrong, but this planter seems to leave plants high and dry. I wanted to have some growing room on the sides of my garage. My yard gets full, hot sun, so I put the vertical planter on a wall that gets partial sun, assuming that with the small size of the pouches, the plants might get too baked in full sun. Well, even in partial sun, the pouches dry out immediately. I'm in California and we're having a drought, so I don't want to have to water these every single day to keep the plants alive. I left for a long weekend and even put a white sheet over the planter and soaked it, hoping this would keep the plants from drying out. But alas, three of the plants were dead when I got back. Normally, in containers and raised beds, I keep my plants healthy with soaking maybe once a week - twice if the weather is super hot. Daily is way too much! These seem more suited to an area where there's regular rain, even in the summer months. This was an experiment, but I have to say that it has not been successful.

Great deal, bad photo!
I purchased fourteen of these to make a fairly large outdoor living wall. They are sturdy and well made, and seem like a bargain compared to comparable products that sell for three times as much! So why not five stars? The product photograph is terrible! It is scaled to make the product seem to be taller than it is wide, when in reality it's more wide (36") than tall (27"). I had drawn plans for the living wall based on the mistaken initial impression, and had to redraw everything after I received my shipment. I mean, it wasn't impossible to redo the work, but it was a lot more work than you know, scaling a photo properly. I'm glad these exist, though. I started researching living walls a year ago, and back then the prices for felt panels put the project out of my budget. If you buy these, beware that they can stretch a bit when you are mounting them! For a multi-panel situation, I recommend mounting one of the central panels first, so you can get an idea of how much area you'll cover with each one. Oh, and these are designed so that you can overlap the bottom edge of one panel so that it covers the top edge of the panel below it. Sort of like wooden shingles on a house.

Hard to use
I don’t know if it’s me not using it properly but there is no way I can get any of my plants to look like the plants in the photos I find this thing is constantly dry no matter how many times a day it’s watered it is always drie. unless you have water pouring on it it’s bone dry and the pockets are not deep enough for any planets really I tried growing strawberries but they all dried up and died maybe little herbs or lettuce might work I’ll try that this year
