These won't improve your spelling but they might improve your handwriting. Cheaper pens sometimes leak ink. These don't and that is a feature worth paying for.

The pen is good BIC-standard writing quality, but the clip is terrible and I'm losing this type of pen at random locations due to it slipping away silently never to be seen again. If you don't care for or need a functional clip it's an excellent pen to write with.
