The Monster Makers RD-407 Mask Making Latex (1 Gallon)

Professional Quality and Standard
A product with many years of history and high quality behind it. Monster Makers is possibly still the only company making this specific formula of liquid latex. It's like the coca cola of rubbers. Its secret is the lack of fillers found in lesser quality latex, there is only three ingredients in this mix. Its strong enough for old school thick rubber masks and delicate enough for thin slip cast prosthetics. I even use this as glue and sealant. Easily thinnable with ammonia or alternatively distilled water since those are the other two ingredients. This is professional material at an affordable price.

Truly awesome product.
I use this product to create some unique latex masks. If you enjoy making masks, there is nothing better. Just wish the delivery cost wasnt so high.

Works great
I use this in my art classroom to make molds of clay objects. Works great! It's goopy so it does not have to have a water tight mold. It can be painted in layers really easily.

First time user, easier and more enjoyable to work with than expected.
Been working on a mask and decided to try the latex route. I've never done anything before with this type of project and was a bit unsure how to go about it.This product though is very easy to work with and easy to clean up. (This might go for all liquid latex, but am not sure). The only issue I encountered with this would be brown spots in the completed item and the liquid form. It most likely just needed to be mixed a bit prior to use (I didn't mix it) according to the representative I talked to. That said, what I'm using it for will be painted, so it's a non-issue.Overall, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to make a mask or costume with latex. It's oddly fun to use.

A prop makers best friend!
I love me some RD-407! For mask makers and prop makers I recommend this over all the others that I have used... Great strength and flexabily for latex! I give Monster Makers 5 stars for making "the good stuff"!

Not Usable without Thinning
Well, I hate to go against the grain here, but my experience with this product has not been 5 star. I've bought Monster Makers mask latex twice and both times it arrived with the consistency of mayo. I called them the first time and was told that it thickens if it sits on the shelf too long. Since I had let it sit (unopened) for about 4 months I accepted the excuse. However, the second time, I opened it almost as soon as i got it and it had the same consistency. It's basically unusable in a slush cast unless heavily thinned. It was not what I expected.

DO NOT USE ON FACE/SKIN
The product is fantastic, but please be advised, THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR USE ON YOUR FACE OR SKIN. I contacted the manufacturer directly and was informed that is for mask making, not applications to skin. The Material Safety Data Sheet for RD 407 Mask Latex states that users should avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. If it comes in contact with skin, the user should wash with soap and water. Eyes should be flushed for 15 minutes. It states to wear a respirator to avoid over exposure. If you are considering using this product for anything other than mask making, please do an Internet search for the Material Safety Data Sheet.
