Evil Spy School

Well written, fun story
Loving this book! So well written. Fun, action packed, suspenseful story. Some parts are a little bit over my 2nd grader's head and need to be explained a bit, but we are enjoying it. This book is for a higher grade level, but he loves spy stuff. There is, obviously, some talk of violence and death, but no gore. Example: the kids talk about whether they think they will be able to kill the enemy if necessary. (I cringed a little there.) Thus far, no one has actually been killed. It seems that in the first book (we're reading in the wrong order) a child agent thought he killed another, but in this book, he's missing limbs but still alive. So, yes, some violence.

Great Page Turner!!!
I have read the entire series! The first book being the best. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. How there was a new side of Erica shown near the end of the book really interested me. I would also love to see Nefarious and Ashley Sparks in the next book. I really liked the end of the book where Erica and Ben were interviewed and i saw their reports. While this book was pretty predictable it was as interesting as the others and left me (as usual in this series) with questions(lots)!I hope there will be another book as this is one of my favorite series. Though the book was a little overpriced(in my opinion) for the kindle version as I know they are not using any paper for this (kindle version) All in all I would recommend this to a friend!

Well worth it if you have a 10 year old!!!!
My son love these books. He's not a slack reader, but he's not "bookworm" by any account either. We don't have to punish him or anything to get him to read, but we do occasionally have to find him the subject matter for him to read for pleasure (if that makes sense). Anyway, he's 10, pretty normal kid, could sit inside and watch TV or ride his bike outside all day and come back covered head to toe in mud or play video games, pretty normal kid...However, he won a raffle from his teacher who had this book and he started reading it at school, and he sat in his room and had it finished by bedtime. Now, my son isn't a slow reader by any account, but like stated above, he's also a normal 10 year old boy, he sees a squirrel out his window and it's all over for him. This book is 352 pages long. We immediately bought the rest of series. He inhaled them just as quickly and then went on a campaign to force the rest of the house to read them all as well!

My 11 year old son cannot put this series down
My son has been reading this series for about. year when we stumbled upon these in a bookstore. He has read 5 of the series and cannot put them down. They are good for a kid who has an imagination and puts themself in the place of the lead character. For my son's birthday he had 2 if these books on his list. I would definitely recommend trying out one of these books for your child.

Super fun wish fulfillment
I will always buy the next installment of this series, and this is an excellent example of the reason why.The reason? These books are just so much fun!I mean who wouldn't want to be a spy at the age of 13? Then to go undercover and work for the bad guys? Beat up bullies at middle school with martial arts training? So much wish-fulfilment, you can't not have fun with it.And that's where this book does right where the last book misfired a little for me. This book is all about Ben Ripley. He's the main character from start to finish, and he's awesome. Spy Camp, in my opinion, placed him strangely as the first-person narrator of another person's story (Erika Hale). But this one is near perfect. With a new location at "Evil Spy School" we get to meet some new characters. Ashley and Nefarious were great additions and I loved them both. They had good backstories, although one of them felt a little flat. The book had great suspense, which was easy given that most of it is a giant undercover plot with the fear of always getting caught. And that's actually where things went a little south for me. This is the reason for 4 instead of 5 starts...[SPOILERS AHEAD]The part where Ben gets uncovered as a double-agent doesn't feel right. There is no way he should have been able to escape that situation. If the bad guys rigged the elaborate trap just for him, you'd have expected they would've also rigged a more idiot-proof way of catching him. It took me out of the story a bit. That nit-pic aside, I loved all the extras added to the end. It was a great way to round out the book.I'm already eagerly awaiting the next in the series.

I love this series!
I love this series by Stuart Gibbs. My son, who's 10, would gladly read these on his own, but since we still do the whole bedtime story thing, I have to admit to keeping these put aside purposely for us to read together. They crack us both up. In this installment, we see Ben Ripley get ousted from Spy School and recruited to Evil Spy School, which is run by SPYDER, the world's leading evil organization. Assuming he's on an undercover mission, Ben accepts. Comedy and danger ensue. There are a couple of new characters added into the series in this novel-Nefarious Jones and Ashley Sparks, both of whom Ben meets his first day at Evil Spy School. I loved both characters and was happy to see the ending hinted at their return in the next novel. This is one series I'll be reading until the end. =)
