Revealing Jesus

I can't remember the last time I was so excited about the release of a worship project! Revealing Jesus is, without a doubt, my favorite worship release of the year and one of the top ten best of the past decade.My only complaint is perhaps the project's greatest compliment--what was recorded on the album was simply not enough! I loved every moment of the recording - and found myself wanting more. The Presence of God captured on that powerful night of worship (at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, AL featuring guests such as Michael W. Smith, Israel Houghton, and Kari Jobe) is so strong on the songs that I fully expect to hear testimonies of signs and wonders taking place as a result of congregations singing these heaven-sent anthems.Since 1999, Darlene Zschech has not only been a personal hero for me in ministry, but she has been a voice that has rallied a generation to passionately pursue God's Presence at any cost. Her songs are the outflow of a true lifestyle of worship. It's not a job for her. Never has been. Even though she is one of the most professional of the professional when it comes to contemporary Gospel recording artists, I have personally sat under her ministry on several occasions, both in Australia and in the United States - she is so much more than a great musician. I can say with great conviction and absolute confidence that, more than a worship leader and more than a recording artist and more than a songwriter, Darlene Zschech is a firebrand and revivalist. She is one of God's burning torches that has set generations and geographies on fire for Jesus. More than perhaps any other project she has previously recorded, or contributed to, Revealing Jesus reveals the heart of a revivalist desperate to see people encounter the Living, supernatural Christ in the place of worship."Victor's Crown" is not only the standout track on the album; I believe it is a "Shout to the Lord" for this new generation. The song actually carries a rare two-fold anointing, bringing people into a glorious, expressive exaltation of Jesus, the One Who overcame the world, and then, releases a stirring decree of spiritual warfare: "Every high thing must come down, every stronghold shall be broken." The first time I heard the song was Darlene leading it at a Joyce Meyer conference. The place was electric with the Presence of God. People made the song their own. Joyce herself was actually staggering in God's glory! It is one of those songs that carries something special."In Jesus' Name" is similar, as it is once again a powerful tool for warfare. More than a worshipful anthem, it is a boisterous declaration of praise. In both of these songs, Zschech manages to balance both Christ-centric worship and authoritative announcements of conquest, warfare, and victory. The bridge truly takes praise to a whole other level - "God is fighting for us, pushing back the darkness, lighting up the Kingdom that cannot be shaken. In the Name of Jesus, the enemy's defeated. And we will shout it out, shout it out!" The build and momentum is powerful."God is Here" is a great opener and will serve many congregations as one of those rare "praise finds." (Well-written up-tempo songs are a rarity these days). More than getting people on their feet and clapping, it actually puts some prophetic words in our mouths: "Open the gates Lord, reveal Your glory. Open the nations, establish Your Kingdom. Open the heavens, pour out Your Spirit. Jesus be revealed, Jesus be revealed!"Every song is worthwhile and stunning in its own unique way. Kari Jobe leads Zschech's "Yours Forever" (which you may remember from her previous studio album, You Are Love); "I Am Yours" - particularly the DVD version - is another highlight, with Michael W. Smith in the background; "Your Name/Cry of the Broken" is a great coupling of Paul Baloche's popular anthem with a song that carries deep significance to Zschech. And of course, there are the two Israel Houghton songs that Darlene absolutely rocks - "Jesus At the Center" and "Your Presence is Heaven."The DVD features a very special segment - that will have great sentimental value for those of us who grew up with Zschech. Darlene and Michael W. Smith lead "Shout to the Lord" and "Agnus Dei." Once again, songs that were born in heaven and simply stewarded on Earth as the ears of God's intimates captured the words and melodies.I encourage you to go for the entire experience: CD, DVD, and the 365-Day devotional that Darlene wrote to accompany the project. This CD album has got to be one of the best for Darlene. I much prefer Darlene leading praise and worship than singing contemporary Christian songs. I have all of the Hillsong praise and worship albums so even though this is not being labeled under the church's "Hillsong label", I'm putting it in the same class. I really liked the early stuff Hillsongs did much better than the later stuff and I guess that's because Darlene sang on more songs then and less now. I GUESS THAT'S WHY I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH... BECAUSE SHE LEADS ALL THE SONGS. Her voice is smooth, elegant, worshipful and vibrant. Here 's why I love this album so much:1. All the songs are Jesus centered and truly lend to revealing more of his love and life. There will be many songs that will be sung in many churches from this album.2. The CD has a great flow of the music. Lots of great high energy praise and very moving worship songs.3. Israel Houghton produced it and co-authored over half of the songs on this album. I like everything he puts his hands to. Things are always top notch when he's involved.4. This may be Darlene's LAST live album.... buy it. you won't regret this awesome worship experience.Do I recommend: HIGHLY.. To me this beautiful album represents where Hillsong would have been with Darlene still at the helm. The second half of this album from Victor's Crown onwards features one majestic worship anthem after another. The choruses are simple and catchy ... "halle-lu-jah, you have overcome, you have overcome" from "Victor's Crown" still rings through my brain through the day. The words are pure worship and adoration. Darlene's amazing voice features in each track, including the duets with Israel Houghton (Your Presence is Heaven), Kari Jobe (Yours Forever) and Michael W Smith (I Am Yours). The DVD in this CD+DVD deluxe edition is a gem; In addition to all the songs, the DVD includes candid interludes by Kari Jobe, Israel Houghton and Michael W.Smith who talk about the meaning behind the album. Praise and worship ! it is a modern praise but it really touch the spirit because the music and instruments are beautiful. No hard beating or drums, just powerful praise.About the DVD: The interview segments on the DVD are very appealing for any body who wonder about "what is this deal of being Christian? " the artists are real and friendly ( interview segments), in other words they portraits positive Christian characters and personalities. They share their love of worship and what it means for them to worship and adore Our Father God. This is what needs the secular world who is searching but has still a lot of false assumptions and of what is the Christian life in modern western society....Will make a great gift for non believers.

I bought the album a week ago and i have played it non-stop in my car, singing. This is a remarkable powerful and amazing album, every song touches you and they are so spirit breathed. Darlene is an amazing songwriter and true worshipper and all the other workship leaders who contributed are great. I will buy this album for friends and family, as I have been waking up singing these songs....they are that powerful. You truly connect with God in a supernatural way using this powerful worship album. I have been totally blessed with this worship album and my son loves it too, and he is 2 and half years old.Ashma

I have not listened to Darlenes' music for a while now, I have loved her worship style and anything that is Jesus based will always get my attention.It is a fabulous C.D, full of powerful worship songs, which I am sure will live on as 'Shout to the Lord' has. We will be singing some of these songs in eternity. What a massive blessing Darlene is. Thank you for being brave enough to do this and proclaim the name of Jesus in the earth today!

This has to be my favourite current Christian CD. The production is superb and the songs are terrific. From this I have taught our local church "Victor's Crown" and it is now a well loved favourite. Darlene just keeps on producing amazing songs!
