Classic Elite Knits: 100 Gorgeous Designs for Every Occasion

A great variety of things to knit. This book offers for every pattern a "Equivalent Yarn" recommendation, stating the type I.e. Worsted, DK, Fingerling etc, and the weight number that you associate with the same yarn thickness for knitters not familiar with the jargon. This book is sectioned into chapters all color coded, for example the green tabbed pages are the men's knits, 16 in all. Each pattern has the skill level clearly noted, and not understated, in my opinion. The charts are large, and there is schematic for every sweater. The children's section contains 25 patterns to fit sizes 2 through 10. The book ends with the accessories, 16 patterns with 9 of them classified as beginner or easy. 39 absolutely gorgeous woman sweater patterns starts out the book. Several patterns have a duplicate for a child's size (not in the count above). Simply put there is too much to choose from but you will enjoy pouring over the pages trying to decide.

I love the first two Classic Elite books that came out several years ago so like others I bought this one hoping something would appeal to me. The best ones use cables and mainly are from Kathy Zimmerman like her kinono coat. The Entangled cable pullover is quite nice from Andi Clark. Most of the pictures show very homemade type sweaters that just don't look nice such as too big children's sweaters. However for someone just looking for something standard which has a schematic and charts where needed, this could be useful. A lot of the sweaters are really plain and as someone wrote, can be easily found for free on the internet. I don't know if Classic Elite ever published separately any of these sweaters as I've never come across them. In the back there's an index and also a list of the sweaters giving the designer. The printing is good and the book which is an overlarge paperback seems to have a good sturdy binding. I think this book would be best for libraries where it will be found on the shelf.

This is a gorgeous knitting book. Many beautiful patterns for the whole family, clearly presented and easy to follow. I especially appreciate the authors giving required yarn totals for substitute yarn which is the first thing one needs to know after gauge and taks a lot of hunting and conversion work - if you can find hte suggested yarn info. The book is beautiful on its own; being practical and easy to read in addition to all the beautiful patterns is an added bonus. It's also a great value considering how many patterns they stuffed into this book for her, him, and kids.

This book has some wonderful patterns. It was in excellent condition for the used bookstore. Would highly recommend purchasing from them again.

I am probably as old as most of your mothers (for the ones that wanted new designs). It is impossible to pick up a knitting book today that will have patterns for a 60ish woman who is small in stature but slightly overweight. This book offes designs that can be made to suit young and old, as changing a few things will make the patterns fit the younger generation, but it starts with the classic designs for those of us who cannot not have the fit the younger women wear today. I love it.

I love the book! The pattern I wanted is very easy to follow! There are so many more patterns I would like to knit! What I really like is that with each pattern they list substitution yarn requirements, so you don't have a problem if you can't find, or don't want to use the yarn they used! I would recommend this book to everybody because there is such a variety of patterns for adults and children!

There are so many patterns in this book. Well worth the money.Even if all you are looking for is women's patterns, you won't be disappointed. But there are men's, kids and other misc. items too.Chock full of good stuff. Easy, Intermediate, Advanced. It's all there.Highly recommend this one!!

Dieses Buch enthält nach meinem Geschmack sehr viele ansprechende Modelle, die ich auch als gut nachzuarbeiten empfinde. Viele Klassiker, aber nichts Altmodisches - tolles Buch, dass meine Sammlung sehr bereichert!
