So great and sturdy!
What I like about this is two things. The first is how sturdy it is. The handle is a nice shape and has a good soft finish. It is important to have a sturdy handle for when you’re stitching through thick leather. The second is the instruction booklet that comes with this awl is very helpful. It has coherent written instructions along with an illustration for most of the important or more tricky instructions.I recommend this as I used it to mend a 2” busted seam in my work boots. After sewing with the awl I put some waterproof calling over the seam just to be sure 😆.Be careful not to put your hand on the other side of the fabrics they you’re sewing because the needles are dangerously sharp!

Stitching makes easy
Before I had hard time fixing thick fabrics (jeans/bags/etc). They were so thick and it was very difficult to get through them using either small or large needles. This speedy stitcher allows me to deal with them easily. I use the speedy sticher it in conjunction with normal sewing needle for different part of the work and it works well for me.The stitcher came with a large needle (#8 straight and curved) and I ordered a small needle (#4). I used #8 on my laundry bag and #4 on my jeans. Large needle punches a large hole so it is not ideal to be used on my jeans I guess.Speedy Stitcher does not offer threads in other colors so I am trying to find alternative threads that work. by the way the thick thread that came with the sticher fits the #4 needle, just need a bit of patient to stick it through. One thing I would like to point out is, the bobbin is very expensive. I need more than 1 bobbin for different thickness and color of threads because winding/unwinding the bobbin every time for different works is time consuming. The official bobbin is both expensive and hard to find. I am thinking to use a small wood dowel to glue two quarter coins together since the bobbin ring has similar diameter as a quarter coin. I have yet to find a working method to bond the coin because both hot glue and solder wire did not stick to the coin. =(Also, speedy sticher only has 1 color for the thread. I am still trying to find a good waxed thread or thick thread with different colour. At last, I think I am happy with the product.========follow up after 4 years:I found a way to replace the official bobbin. Here is how: I saw some small wood spools in dollarama and decided to use them as bobbins. If I put them directly into the bobbin area, they will move irratically and got stuck easily. To fix that, I hot glued a M3x35 screw inside the stitcher (head faces inside) and then put a larger washer to prevent friction when bobbin spins. With the help of the screw, the wooden spools spin straight and will not get stuck. It is not perfect but it works for me. It is a very cheap way to have more bobbins for the stither.
