Can't wait for the next book

THIS BOOK!!!THIS SERIES!!! I LIKED CINDER MORE BUT STILL THIS BOOK WAS PERFECT!!! I actually couldn't put it down though Scarlet made me want to punch her. Wolf in the other hand.....

I am absolutely in love with this story. I devoured this book like a hungry wolf! The second book from The Lunar Chronicles is just as amazing as the first and from the way things end and are set up for the third, I can see this story is only going to get better from here.

Scalet è molto bello e introduce personaggi nuovi e molto interessanti. Forse per la novità ma ho preferito Cinder. L'unica pecca secondo me è che i troppi punti di vista spezzano la storia. Capisco che sono necessari però a mio parere cambia troppo di frequente. Per il resto nulla da ridire, storia bellissima che ti fa venir voglia di comprare subito il seguito. Consigliato!

After reading and enjoying Cinder last year I decided to buy the rest of the collection to read. I was suppose to read this earlier but got completely side tracked with my NetGalley goals. I was excited to see how Cinder’s story developed and what a retelling of Red Riding Hood would be like. This was an amazing and easy read. At 452 pages it seemed a bit daunting and I wondered if it would take me a while to get through. I couldn’t of been more wrong and found I’d completed the book within a few sittings. From the first page I was hooked, the characters captured me and I loved the way the retelling was woven into it. In particular I thought the twist on Wolf’s story was brilliant and it ended up being one of my favourite parts. Scarlet and Cinder are everything you would want from a female protagonist. They are independent, confident, kind and heroic. I loved how their stories intertwined and how they met, both have suffered a lot of heartache but remain resilient against their enemies. Something tells me that they are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the next book. I can’t wait to see what they get up to. Captain Thorne was a welcomed addition to the story. He often made me giggle with his ‘charm’ and great sense of humour. I really hope that Kai starts to become more fierce in the next book, at the moment he is the weak link character. Considering he is the ruler I’d expected him to be stronger. Considering I don’t read a lot of fantasy I thoroughly enjoyed this book in the series. It was the perfect balance of action, romance, fairy tales and cyborgs. I am super excited to start the third book in the series, I’ve heard great things about it!

Ich kann die Lunar Chronicles Serie nur empfehlen. Auch der zweite Teil, bei dem als Vorlage das Märchen um Rotkäppchen genommen wurde, ist wieder toll und flüssig geschrieben, spannend und auch lustig. Das Englisch ist nicht zu komplex geschrieben und man kommt gut mit. Scarlett, die auf dem Hof ihrer Großmutter lebt, welche einen der wenigen "echten" Gemüseanbaufarmen darstellt, begegnet eines Tages dem Einzelkämpfer Wolf, welcher sich ihr anschließt, da ihre Großmutter von einer Organisation entführt wurde, der er früher angehörte. Da niemand sonst Scarlett bei ihrer Suche helfen möchte, da jeder annimmt, dass ihre Großmutter schon längst tot ist, willigt Scarlett widerwillig ein, dass Wolf ihr helfen soll. Parallel zur abenteuerlichen Suche nach Scarletts Großmutter treffen wir auch unsere alte Bekannte Cinder wieder, die, nachdem sie von König Kai auf Befehl der Mondkönigin eingesperrt wurde, zusammen mit einem weiteren Gefangenen einen riskanten Ausbruchsversuch aus dem Sicherheitstrackt des Gefängnisses durchführt, der ihr auch gelingt. Cinder ist nun auf der Flucht und gleichzeitig nach Dr. Erland, doch König Kai ist ihr zum Wohle seines Staates natürlich dicht auf den Fersen. Ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen, der gerne Abenteuer, etwas Science-Fiction und auch Märchen liest :)
