These warm-ups help your child understand what they read!
My son loves his reading warm-ups which we do as many as four per day. We also take one of these guides with us to use on the way to and from school. My son get a bing, bing when he get answers correct and a buzzer if he misses. He hates to miss a question. Ruth Foster is a great author, so I knew her book would be excellent and it is!

Excellent resource for boosting reading comprehension skills, Grade 2
I am always on the lookout for well-written supplementary materials to help boost my daughter's verbal, math, and science skills. I purchased this title from a learning store and have found it to be an excellent supplementary resource to help improve my daughter's reading comprehension skills. The materials are designed to improve core comprehension skills such as reading for facts, decoding vocabulary, building inferencing skills, and many more.I felt the passages were very well-written, and my daughter who is almost eight years old enjoyed working on the different passages. There are over 150 high-interest passages which cover both fiction and non-fiction material. The non-fiction passages cover topics on animals, biography of famous people, American History, science, and current events (this is a 2011 reprint of a 2006 edition). The fiction passages comprise fairy tales and folklore, historical fiction, contemporary realistic fiction, mystery/ suspense/ adventure, and fantasy. My daughter found the passages interesting and delighted in telling me things she had learned from the passages. She also found the questions to be moderately challenging, neither too easy nor too difficult. There's an answer key provided at the back for convenience and also a leveling chart. All in all, this is an excellent learning resource for improving children's reading and comprehension skills.
