Comparison between this and the real GoPro
I bought this one and the real GoPro at the same time. This doesn't have the GoPro logos or the imprinted words on the neck "vertebrae" like the GoPro. This one is made of shiny plastic, where the GoPro is more matte. The spring looks and feels the same, and so does the pivot on the clamp. The knockoff has one more vertebra than the GoPro, making it about an inch longer and slightly more flexible to a greater angle than the GoPro. This product appears to be burly. I'd suggest that you not over-bend it at any junction between any two vertebrae, or it might over-stress and break one of them. This goes for the real GoPro as well, just makes sense. To do this, wrap both hands around the neck so they join at the intervertebral joint you want to manipulate, then bend it there. Bend each joint any way you want. I also had fun straightening the neck completely, then holding the neck by the end in one hand and swinging it down to hit in the palm of my other hand, which slightly bent the neck more and more each time I hit it. I could move the receiving palm up or down to slightly bend any joint in the neck. You can hit your palm harder for more movement. I bought three 1/4"-20 GoPro mount adaptors (two different designs, not GoPro brand) on Amazon too, so I can connect any other camera to any of my GoPro mounts, and these awesome adapters can be had for under about ten bucks each. By the way, these necks can be stacked to double, triple, quadruple etc. the height! They are very stiff and will hold your camera with good strength. I would even use them to hold my Canon 7D. Buy it! Just follow my advice above to be careful with the angle of each vertebra, because each one only has so much range. Exceed that range and you're skating on thin ice! I love having both this one and the real one. The parts can be swapped or combined. If this one breaks, at least I've got the real one. Face it, you can use two of this type of flex clamp mount. Buy one of each, save a few bucks and take a chance.

It has nice rubber adjustable strap that you can adjust for diameter ...
Four stars all the way. Half the price of the actual Gopro Brand. Longer than the actual GoPro brand. What more can you want? It has nice rubber adjustable strap that you can adjust for diameter of pole. I use for quick mount of my external Light and Microphone. I use a Gimbal Stabilizer and just clamp this on to stabilizer then bend around with Light and Mic attached. This is all on my very long extension rods. Then when done bang just un grip, break down, and throw in bag for quick travel to next destination. I give four stars unstead of five because I think the actual long grip could have a better easier bend design. But it is trying to be a exact match for the GoPro model, and it is, so that is probably why it is like it.

good price but wobbly
This is a considerable savings over the gopro branded product! The jaws clamp has a very powerful spring, and the segmented connector is stout and stiff as one would hope.I found that the interface between the clamp and the the segmented connector has a bit of play. This wouldn't matter if your intent was to clamp it to an immobile object, but to use it on a kayak or other vehicle, any movement will cause it to jitter back and forth. To fix it, I had to hot glue them together, which dampened the jitter. Unfortunately that reduces the utility of the set, but it fixes the problem.

Versatile, but don't rush
I have a dozen of these. They are all nearly, if not identical to one another. They work well, but there are a few weak points to keep in mind as you use it. 1) Don't over bend it--it will break. 2) When clipping to or removing from a large post (2+ inch), like a baseball backstop, be gentle and take your time. I have shattered several clips being in a hurry.

A great way to save money
Wanted one of these for a long time and recently picked this one up a while back for my two GoPros. This thing is great. I see what people were saying about it being a bit fragile in the "flex" portion, but if you use it reasonably you should be in good shape. I throw it in my backpack on a regular basis to take it to drumming gigs and it's held up fine. The clamp is really good quality. Unless you're using this professionally on a daily basis, I would say this is a great way to save some money.

Handy but limited and delicate
I've had a similar experience as other users - one of mine broke at the base without applying much force. The gooseneck sections can snap apart and go back together, but those connections are stronger than the fixed connection to the base, which as I said broke pretty easily. So I've had to be very very careful adjusting the others. The range of motion is also much more limited than I expected. These are very handy, just not quite as flexible as I had hoped, and really not strong enough at the base. I'd expect to be able to bend it to its limit and just have one of the sections pop apart rather than break the base permanently. Maybe needs a version 2 to beef up that base. I plan to ask for a replacement for the one that broke.

So far so good. The whole kit is good quality and the joints are all very nice and stiff. I have taken the jaws part gentle, since other reviews mentioned the possibility that the hinge would break, but they have gripped plenty and show no signs of weakness.I also appreciate the little strap inside the jaw of the mount that lets it grasp onto smaller poles and whatnot. A quick adjustment lets me get a firm grasp on the smallest of poles.

good with minor modifications.
When if first received this mount the interface between the flexible arm and the clip was insecure and rattled. I fixed this by attaching some electrical tape to the suface where the arm and the clip snapped together. This eliminated the rattling and created a secure fit. Other than that, it is a good product for the price.
