From wood grain laminate to granite
Tentative 5 stars. Our home was built in the 50s and has never been remodeled professionally. We can't afford to do it that way yet either but I'm tired of looking at the same counters and spaces that I've been looking at since birth.A cheap alternative to ripping everything out now was to try the peel and stick glossy countertops here. They were easy enough for two of us to apply. Some parts of our kitchen just didn't want to let the contact paper stick so we taped there and called it a day- that was no fault of the material but with our countertops.Looks beautiful for what I paid. Next we will try to get new cabinet doors to continue to spruce it up. On to the next project, the Gloss is beautiful by the way.

Thick and glossy
Very nice thickness, seems like it would work well for a countertop. I put mine over a painted wood board and it stuck terribly to the board, but stuck really well to itself, so I was able to make it work by wrapping the whole thing. Seems like it would handle water and wiping fairly well.

Thick & Glossy Contact Paper
I was playing around with contact paper to see if I could put it over my countertops, but I decided NOT to go that route. This paper is super thick and glossy. I was able to put it down and easily reposition it. Even though I didn't use it on my counters, I did line a big drawer with it where I keep a ton of utensils. It looks really nice, and it can also be wiped with a damp sponge if you need to clean it. I've used a good bit of contact paper over the years to line drawers and cabinets, and this is really high quality stuff.

GREAT STUFF
The media could not be loaded. Anybody who comes over to my place, is never able to guess that my countertop is covered with a cheap peel and stick solution. This stuff is very easy to work with. I was able to run it up the backsplash part of the countertop as well, so the countertop and backsplash have the stone effect. I was looking to cover my super cheap apartment countertops. This stuff definitely did the job. I would suggest having a blade to cut with, and getting a smoothing kit. Just make sure you have something flat and even to smooth it to the counter as you peel the backing off.Amazing stuff, if you are looking to cover your countertops, the stuff is awesome. And I’ve had water get onto spots, where I know there are seams, and it has not peeled up. I’ve had the stuff on my countertops for the last couple of months now. There is no sign of it peeling. And the pattern of the Grey stone look that I got, is busy enough that the seams are not visible at all. It all just looks like one continuous piece. So yeah. But this.

The adhesive doesn't hold well at all
I'm going to keep this short. When I think of contact paper, I think of what I suppose is the "old stuff", that was a softer vinyl material. This is glossy and much more like the type of plastic you see labels printed on really commonly these days. The glossy material probably holds up to wear more than the old softer material did.Overall this product seems to work well, with one huge exception that more or less makes it not worth buying: the adhesive doesn't hold well, and in fact gives away really quickly (within days) after installation. I'm sure the material you stick it to has a big impact on this. I used it on thin plywood panels that had previously been painted with eggshell latex paint (so no gloss), and this paper has already started coming off, within less than a week. I also tried sticking it on some painted metal and gave up about 5 minutes in because it was clear it wasn't going to hold.I'm really disappointed with this and really wish I could get back the $10 I wasted on it. I don't recommend buying this when there are lots of other options, but you should definitely read the reviews on those to find out whether they adhere any better than this garbage.

Nice product with patience and planning
I’ve tried two different brands of vinyl covering - 1st was Lacheery (no image) - that brand absolutely has superior adhesive compared to this brand but the surface had an odd texture and it tears rather easily which made it difficult. i ultimately didn’t like the texture and tore it off and started over. This brand is definitely less sticky but the vinyl is stronger and the surface is glossy smooth - it didn’t tear after multiple lifts and re-sticks & there was a lot less stretch which is helpful because it’s hard to ever get stick vinyl on right - repositioning can stretch it and make it more difficult. i did my sink counter using one continuous sheet cutting around the sink fixture as i went.. it was a challenge but i was able to manage it but i wouldn’t tackle anything larger than this myself. Overall I like the outcome and hope it actually lasts- for an inexpensive makeover it has good impact.

Don't waste your time & money
Not good product quality. I've used counter top peel and stick paper before from another company. It was down with no issues for 3 years. This stuff was very difficult to apply and melts very easily... not a good mix in the kitchen. Even setting a hot cup of coffee causes warping & melting. I never had this issue with my other paper.
