Bauerfeind GenuTrain Knee Support (Black, 5)

This is my 6th purchase of the Genu Train Knee Brace. I first started wearing this brace in 1991 after having knee surgery. The brace is great! It provides good support to my knee. The brace allows me to move freely. I wear it when I work out. I can wear it through the airport security with no problems.Times have really changed. When I first purchased this brace it only came in one color. Now there a couple different colors to choose from. Considering inflation, the brace has doubled in price since 1991. The Bauerfeind Genu Train Brace is definitely worth the money.

It's easily the most comfortable knee brace I've worn, yet seems to provide enough support to get me through a ten or twelve hour retail shift. I've been wearing it on one knee and my old brace on my other knee, and just purchased a second one of these. It's expensive, but at the end of the day my knee feels as good as when wearing my old brace AND doesn't have the same negatives - over compression of the skin, sweat buildup, and having the top edges of the side stabilizers digging into my thigh.

This thing is light, very cool - unlike neoprene, and when wearing it, I often forget my arthritic knees. I got my first one six months ago, and it hardly shows any wear. Now I have one for each knee. Although they do not need it often, I wash them in the washing machine under the hand wash setting on cold, and then air dry them. There are stiffeners on the sides, and they are apparently metal, because they set off the metal detectors, but don't feel particularly stiff. I wouldn't recommend wearing them if you are sitting most of the time because they will cut off the circulation a bit.

Works well for me and my daughter. It slides down some when playing basketball. Maybe some type of velcro tightener could be designed in on the bottom. Anyway, it looks good compared to most braces and protects well.

This brace is definitely worth the money I'm a courier on my feet 10 hours of the day I use this to support my knee which was injured some time ago and tends to get a little wobbly. This is one you'll be happy with this. it does tend to get a bit warm but (it does get in the triple digits here often and still it's not so unbearable the benefits way out way the cons). Extremely well made and well worth it

Have general weakness in knee from arthritis, this brace stabilizes the knee and permits me to hike steep downhill sections on mountain trails which were becoming increasingly problematic. Great product.

I have a torn meniscus (on top of an old ACL tear and mild arthritis), which prevents me from doing rigorous exercise such as running or basketball. I like to skip rope, however, so I wanted a brace that would provide a bit of stability for my knee. After reading several reviews, I thought I would give this brace a try. Unfortunately, the brace seemed to do very little. Actually, my doctor warned me that there is no medical evidence that shows these types of braces are effective for my particular problem, so I wasn't really surprised. Still, I was hoping that the Bauerfeind knee support would do something--even add just a tiny bit of extra stability.No harm, though, in trying it out. Buying through Amazon, I was able to get a full refund. I ended getting a much cheaper brace, which seems better. I have no doubt that for other people with different knee issues, the Bauefeind knee brace is effective. But, it's certainly not a panacea.

As noted by other reviewers, the brace slides down often enough to be annoying.
