Anderson Metals - 56108-04 56108 Brass Pipe Fitting, Cap, 1/4" NPT Female Pipe

I believe these are the best brass caps. I visisted the two big box chains, a smaller chain, and bought this. I was looking for a large, thick cap with good dimensions, and this was the best. The others were smaller and thinner, so if that is what you want, go there, but if you can wait for shipping and want the most metal, and thus the strongest seal, I'd say get these. They were all about the same price.

Used it to cap off the air fitting I installed on my pool pump drain. Worked like a charm. Could not find at any of the big box stores around here.

This cap is 1/4" threaded, which isn't the same as 1/4" OD. I bought this to cap the 1/4" OD threaded outlet for an icemaker line. I'm writing this to let others know to be careful of that. It was my mistake though, and the cap is well made and as described, so the product deserves 5 stars.

This cap is exactly what it should be but is not the right size for an ice maker / refrigerator water line (you need OD, not NPT).

Bought and used to cap off a water line that only ever has very little pressure on it. It fit and worked perfect once I installed a small washer in it.
