GE 27909FE1 Dect 6.0 Cordless High-Gloss Designer Phone with Digital Answering System and CID (Black)

Looks really good, works fine and has a low price... what else can I say?

Awesome!!! This Phone is Great.... Has a Superb Signal and the looks is Nice. I like the Glossy Black. GOOD BUY.

It is the only wall mountable phone that hangs flat against the wall.

Phone has volume issues, even in level 8, you can barely hear the voice of the person in the phone, and also in the answering machine

This phone was the only one on the market that filled the two criteria I was looking for...A wall-mounted cordless DECT 6.0 that covered up the wall jack...and matched my black appliances at the same time.I purchased this on closeout at Target for under $35. When I got home, I discovered the phone was used and rewrapped. The cords were in a hastily packed jumble. The guy who bought it originally still had a greeting recorded. There was no manual. I managed to find one on GE's website (among the ONE HUNDRED EIGHT models they had manuals for) and set up the phone anyway.The phone looks great on the wall. My appliances have green illumination that doesn't exactly match the phone, but it all works better than anything else would have. The display is large and easy to read.From a function standpoint, there are far better phones out there. It's plenty loud and is reasonably clear, but voice quality isn't as good as my previous phone. Customization is limited...You're stuck with one ringtone, one which if were found among a variety of ringtones, would probably be called "annoying". Handset range does not appear to be a problem...I had no reception issues from anywhere on the two levels of my home. Handset buttons are NOT backlit.For me, style was worth more than substance, as I hardly ever use my wireline. To that end, this GE fits the bill. For the more advanced user, look elsewhere.

I got this phone for my mother-in-law. She wanted a new cordless with caller ID and and answer machine all-in-one. She really likes it but I am not that impressed with it. It's fine and it works well but the display is very small on the phone itself. Sound quality was good but not great. We also found out that it only has 1 ringtone. The directions come on a large sheet of paper like a road map, so when setting up the phone you have to unfurl the large piece of paper and find the section you are working on. A booklet format would be easier to work with. For the price we paid, it was a great deal and value but there are probably better phones out there. In the end she loves the phone and I am her favorite son-in-law for finding her a phone/ID/answer for $24.

My son installed it for us while we were out of town, but the only complaint he had was the huge fold-out instruction sheet. It should be produced in booklet form.Other than that, we've had no issues with sound, static or anything else so far. I love the fact that it is TRULY a wall phone and fits flat against the wall. It looks great and I appreciate the date/time and caller ID functions.The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because the handset should be backlit - that gold on black number thing is slightly annoying - still, no huge deal to contend with.We don't use the built-in answering machine, since we have CallNotes from At&T.It amazed me that there just weren't many ACTUAL wall phones out there, but this one is perfectly fine for our needs.

I was so dissappointed - I bought this for my husband who wanted a cool, sleek phone for the house. It does look awesome, but there is so much static on the line that I don't even want to use it. I was forwarned about this - that the GE 6.0 phones had static issues, but I thought my phone would be different. I was wrong. Beautiful phone, but now basically just for decoration.
