Photos are accurate! I bought the 10L bag, and it is just small enough that it’s never bulky or heavy, but just big enough that it can fit a strategically folded beach towel, a bathing suit and/or maybe one change of clothes (not including shoes), and a snorkel mask (the kind that covers the whole face and has the detachable snorkel at the top). However, I am a petite woman (think 5’1” and 100 lbs., so my clothes/bathing suit do not take up much space in general. A kid or small adult such as myself would likely do well with this bag and this size, so try to judge how big of a bag you’d need for it to suit your needs appropriately.It definitely keeps all my stuff dry, I wouldn’t submerge the bag in water or at the very least submerge it for a prolonged amount of time, but it can definitely withstand a downpour or even being rinsed off at a beach shower while keeping everything dry. The top doesn’t seal closed, you pinch the top and roll it down (like a bag for coffee grounds), and then clasp the plastic buckle at the top to keep it closed. Nothing falls out if you don’t overstuff it and it all stays dry, I just wouldn’t say it’s definitely an air-tight seal. The bag material is similar to a raincoat or a lunchbox.

I use a portable fire pit when camping to have a small campfire. I bought this to store wood pellets as fuel for the campfire. Even when it doesn't rain it often gets damp and humid and wood pellets soak up the moisture and turn to mush. I took this on a 2 week trip through some pretty humid areas and the pellets stayed dry. I could easily close it up at night and leave it outside confident the pellets would stay dry even if it rained. It's also pretty thick and feels rugged so it should last.

It is sturdy enough . If you make sure to roll it down and secure it will keep your stuff waterproof. I do recommend a back up inside waterproof pouch for valuables because you can't be sure it's sealed properly if immersed in water. I used it to go whitewater rafting. It very deep inside. Just one big bucket no pockets or compartments so everything just falls inside which is why I recommend another waterproof pouch inside. It feels sturdy and has a large capacity. Straps are strudy.

I'm not sure what it is supposed to be used for, but this is what I put all my important stuff in, when I'm out fishing in my small Jon boat and my 9 HP Merc. I even put other waterproof sleeves inside of this, for my cell phone and registration paperwork just to be sure. It's orange, it floats, it keeps thing dry. And I can put all the important crap in one safety bag.

I purchased this dry bag to use on a fishing trip in Hawaii and it did its job. The seal is good and didn’t let any water into the bag. The size is perfect for holding a couple of things that you want to keep dry. The bag comes with a helpful, sturdy strap. It's a great value for the money. I did not notice a lingering smell on my dry bag. Would purchase again, but don’t think I need to as ours are still holding up from our last trip.
