This is a beautiful book! The layout and photography are stunning and the information the author provides is top notch! It's a recipe-rich book and the author takes the time to explain the more difficult processes (like cream-making) in an easy-to-understand and follow way. I recommend it to anyone who would like to blend their own personal care and beauty products!

I've been learning about aromatherapy and natural home remedies concerning skin and hair care for the past half year. I think she has wonderful tips and her recipes (and yes, two ingredients can be a recipe) are so customizable my imagination has already taken flight of where I'd like to take my own products. While, yes, there is no mention of how to really preserve your creation other than make small batches and the refrigerator, if you do your homework, there's plenty of information out there of how to preserve your stuff either for larger batches or for possible commercial use. This book, however, is a wonderful takeoff point from where you can start to begin your journey from the synthetic to the natural.

Loved this book! I have downloaded a few similar titles to my kindle. The recipes are simple, the directions are great and options for different skin types is very helpful. Ingredients are fairly easy to find if you have a natural store near by or online.I would recommend it for beginners like myself.

There is one recipe per category. Most of the recipes include Borax. Borax! Come on now, really? The book however is easy to follow (you can read it in a sitting), informative has good content and if you are ok with Borax... then you will really enjoy this book. I personally will not use Borax. It is used to make homemade laundry detergent. Also used to keep bugs at bay. Many old school skin care recipes call for Borax however . That's when consumer access to ingredients was very limited.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or more advance when making home made products. There is something for everyone in it. I made enough notes and highlights so I can make a quick reference to the material when I need to. Pictures are great as well!

Some easy recipes & some a little more complicated but all explained clearly in easy steps. Starting with the easy stuff to get the methods down and so far each recipe has turned out great

Mary Helen makes natural beauty easily accessible to all. This is a very worthwhile read whether you want to learn about the hazards of chemicals in the products you use on your body or you want to go all in and make your own natural beauty solutions. And, she's a great writer! I highly recommend this book.
