It’s easy to use, but do not expect the kind of accuracy you’d get from one of the high end dowel jointers. It’s disappointing that there doesn’t seem to be any dowel jointers that fall between ultra cheap and ultra pricey.

Like the self centering. All metal construction allows for straight and accurate dowel holes. Much better then cheap plastic jigs that wobble.

This product was not accurate at all. Except for it being constantly off. See picture. As you can see one side of the hole distance to edge of wood is larger than the other side of the hole. This has the tendency to twist the two mating edges out of alignment. The bushing guides are made of an inferior metal and are easily distorted with the drill bit. Hardened steel should have been used. The picture shows the distorted guide after drilling 48 holes. Save your money. The last guide would wiggle when I put the drill bit in it to drill the holes, helping to misalign the hole. This tool should have two synchronized screws one on each side and the guide dowel in the middle. This would help with hole alignment, add hardened steel drilled guides and you would have a usable tool. Sure it would cost more but woodworkers would pay for quality.So much time was lost in having to try to clamp the pieces to try to straighten the twist it was ridiculous..not a happy camper!

Easy to use just takes a bit getting use read instructions before using

I bought this particular one as it had next day delivery and i needed it for a time sensitive project. The 3/8" bushings (the size I required) had messed up threads and would not seat in the body. They spun around and pulled out with the drill. The centering was off by about 1/32" (1/16" if trying to match up 2 doweled holes) I had to take it apart to realign it to get it closer. As I am a machinist and had access to a metal lathe, I was able to make a replacement bushing that works. I contacted Amazon and dealt with an automated customer service bot that forwarded my complaint to the manufacturer and told me to (hopefully) expect a reply within 2 days... If I had not had the experience and access to machinery it would be useless to me.

Badly manufactured tool in as much as the centre peace is not true, it runs at a b angle and therefore needs re aligning depending what size dowel needed.
