The Seaside Puppy (Pet Rescue Adventures)

My animal mad eight-year-old daughter loves these books. They're perfectly pitched at her reading level, so she can sit and read them on her own, which is great. Last week, she was insisting that we get in touch with Holly Webb to let the author know how good her books are. We found an email address on Holly Webb's website and my daughter sent her a message. Holly replied that very evening with a lovely email. My daughter was absolutely thrilled - full marks to Holly Webb for taking the time to send a message to a fan!

My 6 year old has started to read these books and she loves them. I’ve been trying to get her to read books for a while and these have really helped. She loves dogs and she’s enjoying the story. I ordered the nearly new book and the condition was fab.

This is a lovely little tale about a caring, dog-loving girl and an adorable puppy in desperate need of a friend. Short and easy to read, with some cute illustrations, it would be perfect for young animal lovers.Laura is friendly and responsible and longs for the company of a dog to take on walks. So when a party of teenagers comes to stay at the holiday cottage next to Laura’s house, she is delighted to find that they have a puppy – and that the owner would like her to look after it. Poor little Henry isn’t quite so pleased. He’s small and nervous and hates loud noises. But when Laura is around he feels safe.Henry is incredibly sweet and I really felt for the poor thing in this book, which made it doubly good when Laura was there to look after him. The book does a good job of showing how to be a responsible dog owner (and how not to be) without being too stern.It’s a sweet story in true Holly Webb style, telling both Laura’s and Henry’s side of things. Young dog lovers should thoroughly enjoy it – and a few adults too.(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

My students loved this book! We recently added a trip colored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to our classroom, and this book was perfect for our circle time read aloud. Cute story that teaches the importance of responsible pet ownership. I'll be purchasing more in this series for my early readers.

Bought this book off a reading list for 3rd grade independent readers. Kiddo loved it, asked for more books from this series.
