Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC)

First off with the packaging. A standard cardboard box with two discs and the code. Nothing too flashy or a DVD case. Little disappointing.The installation discs contain most of the data, 18.6GB, out of which you only have to download 1.4GB. Note that the size may have increased due to updates.First off, with the performance. The game is weirdly a little hard to run on my Core i5-4690k, a GTX 760 and 8GB of RAM, the game runs well above 40FPS before you get to Siberia at Maxmimum Settings, after that it all goes downhill. FPS drop to around 20 and sometimes even lower, had to change the settings to a mixture of high and very high to get FPS above 30, although the TressFX 2.0 (PureHair) is way better performance and quality wise than TressFX 1.0 which is nice to see.Graphics are great, the game is pretty as hell. Sometimes the jump between gameplay to cutscenes is jarring duew to the added fx in cutscenes and some transitions seem out of place which is not something I would say about the 2013 reboot. Probably due to the Director's lack of experience or maybe they just ran out of time to iron stuff out.The Music of the game is sublime, the wardrums bring epicness and a mysterious tone to the game which sounds great, especially the music while raiding tombs. I would recommend turning the the Sound effects and Dialogue volume a little lower than the music volume to truly enjoy the music.The Gameplay and Story: The Tombs in this game are way better than the ones in the 2013 game. They are bigger, harder and provide a better sense of accomplishment. The crafting and survival elements have gotten a major makeover, giving players multiple weapons of the same category, multiple bows, pistols etc. Mutiple outfits included in game, plant, animal and salvage gathering is required to craft various ammunition and inventory items such as flasks and ammo pouches. The usual weapon upgrade and player skill system is there to upgrade weapons and get more skills. The gameplay has been varied a little more by adding stealth sections to prevent the gameplay from getting repetitive, although the game is still a little heavy on killing which was a little disappointing. The story is good, providing some plot twists here and there, with top notch voice acting and acting work done via Camilla Luddington and others, much better than the last game.Overall, the game is fun as hell, certainly one of the best games of the year 2015 (even if it launched on PC this year, it's still a 2015 game).It might be a little hard for your PC to handle if you don't have the specs, so check before you buy.

(only AA kept at 8x). Once I set the graphics to the max possible, the game runs smoothly and it's a blast to play. (There is some stutter during cut scenes, but this is a porting problem, not due to sys issue).The gameplay as is the enhanced version of the 2013 TR, which is a good thing.So go ahead and make your purchase, you won't disappointed.Regards,John

I wanted to wait for the steam sale to buy this game but then again I am on a limited bandwidth connection, so I decided to just buy the physical copy, and I thought it would look good with my Tomb Raider collection.I got the game within the estimated date of arrival and no complains regarding the packaging, it was perfect. There were two disks and a warranty card in the box. The game started to install after I put the first disk and entered the steam code. Took ten minutes for disk 1 and then 5 minutes for disk 2. Then the game had a roughly 2GB update which downloaded while I played Arkham City. Took a couple hours(250KBps).My Rig:-i5 6400-8GB RAM-Asus Strix Nvidia GTX960 4GB-Monitor 1440*900 19inch-Windows 10 Anniversary UpdateThe game runs flawlessly on High settings with no lag.Benchmarks show an average of 60fps, the lowest it fell was 30fps which is not a big deal.At Very High setting, a prompt came up saying that it'd use more than 4GB of VRAM so I did not play in Very High setting. But it looked great in High so no problem.The story was similar to the first game, but still fresh and intriguing and suspenseful as ever. The tombs in the last game weren't very challenging but that changes here, there are more tombs and they're pretty challenging but not as much as the original games. Combat system has been greatly improved along with stealth mechanics like hiding in bushes and on branches of trees. There are number of different bows and arrows, different pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns too. Enemies are more active and more difficult to beat. They'll check hiding spots to find you. One entire sequence of the most difficult enemies in the game in the underground city was very intense. The game teases more to come and I cannot wait for the next installment. I haven't played the DLCs yet so I'll edit this if I play them. Also lot's of reviews say the game is short. If you play it in one sitting, yes it is, but I completed the game in three days on moderate gameplay with moderate exploring. If you explore a lot, the game will take longer.In short, it's a great game, optimization is great and great new entry in this franchise(I know that was a lot of 'great's). Can't wait for the next.

Bought and played the full game the story is good but the graphics are too heavy and I only get 20 fps even though I have a 4gb graphics card of amd and 16gb of ram and i7 processor. Be sure to have a nvidia gtx 960 before you buy this game or your gaming experience is going to be a draggy slow 20fps gameplay.

La verdad es que es un juegazo, habia jugado en version pc, y por 13 lo compre para la vieja xbox360 y ver como se juega en 55 pulgadas y la verdad que muy bueno para ser del año que es.
