Powerful saw lives up to the Bosch brand
I have been a carpenter hobbyist/handyman/homeowner for many years, but this is my first reciprocating saw, and it is now my "go to" tool for cutting outdoors. So far, I have used this saw to cut tree roots and a 6 inch oak branch, and can testify that it sure beats using an axe or hand saw. The two speed motor is a great feature, and the "Lockjaw" feature to attach or detach a blade with one hand works like a charm. The battery charges quickly, and holds it for a long time. I would rather have had a Bosch L-BOXX instead of the fabric bag, but the bag works fine. 18v battery is interchangeable with my other Bosch tools, a definite plus.

Strong, powerful cutting
What a beast! For a month since arrival, this saw has been on roofs, up and down ladders and buried in piles of trees cutting the results of an epic ice storm here with monster piles of broken trees and branches. The saw was fitted with a 12Ah Bosch battery. Both saw and battery have endured over a hundred hours of brutal work without complaint. The saw's long stroke cuts through nasty, green hardwood perhaps better than any other reciprocating saw, while locals have not had to endure long-term noise of chain saws. I love this Bosch saw!

Bosch still stands for affordable balanced with durable.
Construction is sturdy, changing blades is simple, and very easy to use. Slightly on the heavier side, but not really a detractor. My only complaint might be the battery life. I usually swap out my drill batteries to operate this saw when needed. The battery life is decent enough to finish one small job usually, but I keep a second battery changing as backup most of the time. Overall a great value and as usual I hold Bosch power tools in high regard for their balance of affordability and durability.

Works Great. would buy again.
Apologies to Bosch. First review said unit was broken. It was not. Operator error. I thought blade holder was locked open and blade was not retained. I was dropping blade in place and not pushing on the blade. When you push on it the blade it clicks in place and locks for operation. A simple twist of the blade holder smartly ejects the blade. Bought three before I figured that out. Oops! Great tool.

my wife likes it
This is a powerful beast, like others of its ilk. It is a little lighter than one would expect and very easy to handle. It is the only power tool I have bought so far that my wife is not afraid to use. She loves using it to prune bushes and other medium size yard demolition jobs that are too big for hand tools and too small for a chain saw. I used it to cut up an old fibreglass tub/shower surround. It cuts wood and fibreglass like butter. Have not tried it on metal yet, but expect it will perform great. Shipping was timely even with free Super Saver shipping. Thanks Amazon. I am using Bosch DareDevil blades with it. They are terrific. Unfortunately Bosch does not have a suitable plastic blade case for larger than 6" blades, but a pencil box from a school supply store looks like it will work great for the blades. This saw is built very rugged, as are my other Bosch cordless tools. Looking forward to my next demolition project. Bosch tools are awesome.

I am biased. I like Bosch power tools. What more can I say...
I am biased. I like Bosch power tools. What more can I say...other than that they're awesome. I already owned the cordless drill and driver set so had two batteries that fit this reciprocating saw. I have already used this a few times and love how easy this is to cut through most things like butter. I especially love how easy it is to change blades. No additional keys or chucks are needed to change out the blade. And for what it is, anything under $100 is a good deal for this tool that is one of the more imperative and heavily used tools for a DIYer.

Works great. Cordless tools are always more convenient of course. Usually when using a recip it's only for few minutes and eliminates the need for cord setup. Bosch of course provides a solid tool as always and is heavy duty. (not your regular department store tools). Recommend to everyday users. No jobs site should be without.

Fist of all in the features Amazon claims it’s brushless… it ain’t. Second of all Lithium ion decal under the Bosch logo is not present only a sticker that says CRS180 HD.. is this a TV? Under the sticker felt something textured and embossed like thinking it may be the original decal . Peeled the sticker off only to find some either hectic glue or melted plastic . Packaging wasn’t great the saw was very loose in the box. Tested it out (not cutting any material) and everything seems fine.. Time will tell. I paid $137 for this while it was cheap now it’s gone up to $217.. would not pay this price purley for the dodgy iffy presentation factor. Might be a bargain at $137 but I guess you get what you pay for.
