Bob's Red Mill Pearl Barley, 30oz (Pack of 4) - Non GMO, Vegan, Kosher

We’ve tried this brand before, on my husband’s account, and have been pretty happy with it in terms of flavor. It’s my purchase this time, and I was impressed with how the sturdy individual bags came in an equally sturdy box inside of the shipping box. Bags were sealed, integrity of everything is intact.Like I said, product is fresh, tasty. We mix ours with rice and cook it in our rice cooker.

Is it my imagination or are these grains larger than average?It matters not, the barley cooked up easily with that great al dente bite - snappy in the center and gooey on the outside.

Excellent quality product for a reasonable price. Tastes great alone or with any kind of dry beans--pinto, navy, red--rather than rice. Barley is much healthier for you than any type of rice.

I have difficulty finding barley at my neighborhood market. I bought this and this is IT. Definitely the most lovely texture and best flavor.

The package arrives with three bags in it. Well packed. The color is different from another brand I ordered. This one is brownish and the other one is white. Anyway, I have been using it for my breakfast. I mix it with a lot of other things. Therefore, I cannot exactly tell the taste. On the whole, I think it is good.

Will purchase again when needed in the future.
