Simple device that does the job well. The solid steel drop rod has enough weight to drop into the dirt without pushing it in. It holds the door in place well. No fear of bending.

We bought 2 sets for some bigger gates we have to hold them in place. They have been working great, even through high winds, rain, snow and heat. Very durable,light weight, they look great and easy to install. Perfect size for what we needed. Highly recommend

The basic product is very strong and easy to install. The design is flawed. The notch to rotate and slide the handle is on the wrong side. I had to modify the brackets by drilling notches on the opposite side. As designed, the handle would have to rotate into the gate to turn and slide. It is impossible to rotate the handle towards the gate and then slide. Simple fix but I knew how to do it and had the tools.

This gate stabilizer is solidly built with heavy-duty steel, and the coating gives it a durable finish. I was a bit skeptical about the self-tapping screws holding in wood, but they’ve proven reliable, even on my six-foot gate. Installation was a breeze and took very little time. Once installed, the rod easily slides up and down, locking securely in the ground, with the option to stow it on either the left or right. For the price, it’s a great value and well worth it for any DIY-er. I’ll include some pictures here, and as usual, I’ll update if something goes wrong.

We have a double gate on our fence. The one side has one of these attached to it already but, the other size keeps shutting. So, I wanted this for that size to help hold it open while I'm mowing the lawn or working outside. Easy to install. Sturdy and nice and strong.

Works fine and very durable!

This is such a simple device, but cane bolts can be special too. This 12" bolt has a well-executed design that will hold the bolt in the 'up' position. More than that, the quality of the finish and the quality of the product are excellent, and somehow this bolt makes my gate look more elegant. It operates extremely smoothly and quietly, and is a huge improvement over the old, rusty and squeaky cane bolt it replaced. Five stars!
