Best bang for the buck image quality from a reputed brand.
Pros: Great camera. Had good color saturation, and stabilization. There are a lot of affordable 3rd party accessories that will work with this camera. Cons: The Sony editing software was a little confusing to use, even for a tech savvy person such as myself (I used it with a Mac). The case was a little clumsy and did not give me much confidence that it would hold up under water. Too many fragile feeling flaps you have to access in order to set it up. The audio is only clear when pointed directly at the source, and distorts when it is coming from another direction. Overall: definitely the camera to get, if you want the best bang for the buck image quality, and not much else. I don't think the sound quality is much of a deal breaker since most people add background music for action cam videos.

Nice camera
Good camera with a good mic and image quality. that being said it is nothing phenomenal just damn good. If you don't need underwater capibillity I would go with the Sony az1. If you want more options for mounts an what not than the as50. If you have money go buy the fdr3000 but if your reading this I'm assuming you don't have that kind of money.

Awesome camera.
I spent quite a long time deciding which camera to get. Finally, I got this one and I don't have any regrets. It works miracles with everything that I throw at it. Excellent Full HD videos, audio, timelapses, pictures, etc. 4K timelapse, at firstfirst I thought I wouldn't use it. But I ended up loving it. Its small, compact and the diving has been holding up really well. No cracks, spills inside or malfunctions. New and Cheap too! Of you are just starting, an amateur or creating YouTube videos (LiquidNebula) like me, this is the camera to get.

Still very good Action Cam, better features.
This is my third Sony Action Cam. Purchased cause still have extra batteries and because the quality of video and steady shot feature which is way better than Go Pro. I really like the multi connection, you no longer require the Play Memories app to download files. No GPS, never used it, so I wont miss. What I really miss is the HD connection to watch videos and pictures directly to my Sony TV. Didnt buy the live view remote watch cause its worthless you can download the app and your phone can be use as a screen when take pictures or need a control remote

I love this tiny camera
Wonderful camera, the picture quality is good 1080p 60fps and stabilizer makes this camera perfect, unfortunately 4k is not possible with this model but for the price its picture quality is really good, I have not tried this camera for long time recording so I can't tell if battery lasts long, anyways well designed for my purposes.

I realize this is a $250 camera. I have had this thing turn off randomly during recording on multiple flights on my aircraft leaving me to miss great shots. The focus on this camera is TERRIBLE. All objects in the distance lose definition. I can best describe the image quality as visually vague. Save up and buy something else or buy one of the many chinese cameras with better performance.

Fun camera
It's a fun camera. I am a big fan of Sony cameras and Zeiss lenses. I use a Sony rewards credit card to earn "Sony points" just so I can buy Sony camera equipment, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try this camera. I love the wide-angle lens, the small size, the waterproof housing, and especially the near-field wireless watch-band remote (a great feature). You can control the camera remotely, with this little "tv screen" you can wear as a watch. This is crucial if you are wearing on the camera on your helmet, or your dog (they actually sell a dog harness for these cameras), or anywhere else you can't easily see the little monitor on the camera itself. I have mostly used this for making time-lapse videos, and here's my biggest gripe with the product. It turns out that in time-lapse mode, taking pictures every 2 seconds or 5 seconds or 20 seconds (or whatever), the camera actually creates individual jpegs which you then need to stitch together with software that Sony doesn't provide. I did manage to eventually find a decent "Time Lapse Assembler" program for free to use on my Mac, so you don't have to spend money to get Final Cut Pro (for example) to take advantage of the feature, but I think this is a big oversight on Sony's part, that the time-lapse videos are not assembled in the camera, nor do they provide post-processing software. It's particularly annoying because they don't even put the individual jpegs into separate file folders on the camera, so you have to sort them by hand to make an individual video. I haven't done any price comparison on the various action cams sold by Sony but I were looking to buy a Sony action cam I would take a look at Sony FDR-X1000V/W 4K Action Cam if it's not too much more money, just to get the higher resolution. I am going to attach a timelapse video taken with this camera. The original is very crisp (great optics); not sure how it will appear on this website

Great purchase!
Awesome little Camera. Picture quality really good. Camera seems pretty durable. The info screen is a little confusing to use but with time you learn what the icons are. And it's much easier to use they the app.
