The dishes are heavy and exactly what I wanted. Only suggestion is the 8" plate should be a little bigger

An excellent value! This stoneware is heavier and more substantial than any other I looked at in person before ordering from Amazon. The plates are large and the cups and bowls are deep. I saw many sets at this price point that were flimsy and lightweight with shallow bowls. The navy blue color fades to a lighter shade of blue, but be aware the darker blue is the dominant color. I also ordered 2 sets of glasses to match which look great. I highly recommend this stoneware, as Pfaltzgraff is a renowned manufacturer whose products are ordinarily much more expensive.8/5/2021. Addendum to my previous review: Still love this set. A dinner plate got dropped on my concrete patio and broke, so I had to order a new one from Replacement.com. Cost $24.00 with shipping and tax. My point is, you get the whole dang set for $48.00 and free Prime shipping. What's not to love?

Upfront, if this item arrives undamaged, you'll like it; of course, that's the rub. I was hesitant to order dishes through Amazon because of shipping concerns. But because of a price drop, I took the plunge and ordered two 16 piece sets. They were shipped in two separate cases, and sure enough, when the boxes were delivered, one was damaged. I only had to open one inner box to find the broken plate. I made the return arrangements on the web with no problems, electing the UPS pickup option because of the bad weather; they picked up the return the next day, and a replacement shipment arrived in about a week. I unpacked the replacement case, seeing no obvious damage, and stacked the dishes on the counter to be rinsed later, discarding the packaging material. It was only when I was rinsing the dishes that I felt a rough edge on one dinner plate, and upon further examination, I saw a faint crack from the center of the plate extending all the way to the edge. Since it was a manufacturing defect, and I had discarded the packaging material, I called Pfaltzgraff Customer Service to request a replacement, only to be informed that if I bought it from Amazon, I had to deal with Amazon (and granted, if I had the packaging material, Amazon would have probably accepted another return, but of the entire set. I did sit down and compose a letter to the parent company President, explaining the situation and how I had a set of Pfaltzgraff dishes purchased 35 years ago (back then, when you got a service for 8 it was 42 pieces, coffee cups and saucers, as well as a salt and pepper shaker), and that although it wasn't the end of the world, I was disappointed in the company's attitude toward replacing defective items. To my pleasant surprise, within a few days I was re-contacted by Customer Service, now perfectly willing to send a replacement plate. So, instead of knocking off two stars for the run-around, I only knocked off one. The dishes are heavyweight, weighing more than the temporary service for 4 I had picked up a couple of years ago when I got down to six dinner plates on my original set (I felt the difference and actually weighed them on a postal scale). I like the design, and so far the dishes have made it through several dishwasher cycles with no issues. My only caveat is that if you are ordering through Amazon for delivery, be prepared and inspect carefully for damage.

I moved to a new place and needed new plates and such. The original one I picked out was out of stock when I came across this. I ended up liking this one better. I wanted blue stoneware and this was just classic looking to me. I love the blue color and the simple design. They seem to be holding up well. I bought a second set to have enough for company. I have no complaints at all.

Pfaltzgraff is a company that provides a great quality product. The dishes came in packaged well. I won't buy a dish set unless it has a good cereal bowl. These bowls are PERFECT for the cereal eating, ramen lover in your house. The coffee cups fill up with an 8oz keurig brew or 6oz with creamer. The plates, well...they are plates. The bowls and plates fit perfectly in the cupboard next to each other and not piled on top. A great quality set that is perfect for everyday use. I guarantee you that even if you don't like this design, the company will not disappoint. My sister and I both have these dishes and love them. (well, she has a different style but same company) Also if you check out their website, you will see that you can always add more later if need be so that you can entertain. :-)

The color and the durability of the dishes is awesome!

While these were well packed and arrived on time, intact, no breakage, the color is not a close match to my existing Pfaltzgraff Eclipse Blue dishes, which are a few years old. In the picture attached, my old dishes are on the left, and the new ones are on the right. I just checked the listing, and the picture in the listing looks much more like my existing dishes, which are several years old. My existing dishes do not have the straw colored ring around the white part, and neither do my existing dishes. The Color on new dishes is also a bit darker blue. I noticed it right away, but my husband did not when I showed him, and he is usually better at identifying matching colors than me. Anyway, the difference is not enough for me to send them back, but if this would bother you please be aware of the color shift. I bought these because we had chipped a few dishes, so I wanted to have replacements available.
