Stupid me (noob embroiderer), figured the 8" stabilizer would work across the 5" dimension of the hoop, but by the time you add the unusable area within the hoop and the 'squeezed part', you will have used 7" of the 8" width, so you will have to nail the centering to be sure that you have stabilizer across the entire hoop region. It is NOT worth saving $2 not to get the extra 4" of stabilizer width. Don't make my mistake - resist the temptation to go for the 8"; DEFINITELY spend the extra $2 and get the 12" width - it's WELL worth the convenience. If need be, you can turn it sideways and cut less off the roll per pattern thereby making the roll last LOTS longer.

Quality product and will buy again (if I ever get time to embroider!) Geez, is it just me, or is life crazy busy? Anyway, it gets 5 stars from me! 👍

Does exactly what I need it to do and I can cut to the length that I need easily.

This product works as it should and is lots cheaper than the name brand stuff. Its all i use for my machine embroidery.

It is not a cutaway backing, but I do tons of embroidered patches and this is awesome. I've ordered 5 rolls in the past 3 months and as soon as it is in stock, will order probably 5 more.

For my machine embroidery projects, I needed a heavy duty stabilizer. This was like using cardboard. Extremely difficult to hoop ( kept popping out of the hoop), it felt like heavy construction paper, and not very good quality. Fortunately I found another heavy weight stabilizer that is much softer and easier to work with. Having been doing machine embroidery for 30+ years, and using many different brands, I cannot recommend this one.
