It's weird to say, but these cloves are too good for me...
Let me explain. A few months ago, I started eating two cloves daily, based on YouTube videos extolling the health virtues of this practice. I bought 8oz of Amazon cloves. By the time I was almost done with them, I was devouring 10-15 cloves per day, and loving it. However, the Amazon cloves were, at about $2.50/oz, relatively expensive, and, I suspected, of low quality.I was soon blown away to discover the availability of these USDA Organic, Non-GMO, Fair Trade, at just over 1/3 the cost per oz! Sign me up!They arrived quickly, and upon opening the bag, did not disappoint. These cloves are large, plump, red, and fragrant, in stark contrast to the little desiccated mummies from Amazon.Buuut...They're so potent, eating them makes my tongue swell and ache, and my eyes water a bit, even AFTER making tea from them. The tea itself also does this. There was no trace of such side effects from the Amazon cloves.I don't know what to do with them; my wife (who's account this is) doesn't cook with cloves, and I can't eat or return them. I hate to go back to the Amazon brand, but I'm afraid of having the same experience with any other brand of similarly high quality as these. Sigh.Anyway, I'd advise buying them for culinary purposes, but probably not to just eat, unless you can get a smaller amount to test out first.

Fresh and versatile
I bought this bulk bag of cloves to use in soap making, but they ended up having an unexpected value. When I had an abscessed tooth and could not get to the dentist for a few days, I chewed up a clove and held it near the abscess. These cloves are so fresh that they are full of oils and killed the pain immediately. I'd read about using cloves for tooth pain back in the day, but I didn't know anyone who still did it. This isn't medical advice, simply my own experience. I'm looking forward to making clove and orange pomanders for Christmas decor this year. Every time I bought cloves in the past, they have always been quite expensive and in a small container. These cloves are packaged in a sturdy bag that seals easily and well. Having this much product to work with at a reasonable price feels like luxury. I would definitely re-order.

Whole cloves
Good high quality whole cloves. I use them with loose green tea in a strainer. The active eugenol in cloves and the catechins in the green tea specifically support intestinal health. Haven't used then to bake a ham yet but...it's on the list. The cost per quantity is a 5+... Sealed tight they have not list their strength
