Pain relief and value
These are a great value for the money. All the side tabs are sewn in well. I know other reviewers had issues with this, but I did not. I did have to soak them about 48 hours to get the interior "stones" to smooth out and hold water. After they were all smoothed out I would soak this in the sink with heated water from my kettle. It sustained the warm, moist heat about 20 minutes. This really works well for my "mouse shoulder". I could lay down on this with a T-shirt on and have sustained relief for about 4 hours.

reliable deep heat
The Chattanooga heating pads are a very good quality product for needed moist-heat therapy. I had one for over 20 years and had to use it daily for a few months. It had to be heated over and over and folded away daily; and for years it showed no signs of wear. It was so sturdy, that I pulled it out of the closet after years of no use and started to use it for a new injury, and it was still as sturdy and reliable for deep heat as years before. The only reason I had to buy a new one is because I caused a damage to the surface that had nothing to do with its use. I was curious if a new one, after 20 years, would still be manufactured with the same tough and rugged good quality materials, and it was. The canvas casing is a thick, strong cotton, and the heating material inside is dense so that when heated according to instructions provides a truly good, deep healing heat that lasts long enough for a good session of heat therapy... a very worthy product for non-electrical heating for the body.

Poor quality! Used to be durable, now last 0-4 weeks before leaking. DO NOT BUY
My first review - healthcare workers beware. When these work as advertised, they are incredible (hence the star). Unfortunately, these packs now appear to be porous.I am an acupuncturist and East Asian Medicine physician. I have been using these products since 2005 and historically loved them. In the past few years, the quality has gone downhill. My most recent purchases for my hydrocollator were at the end of September 2023 (because packs from earlier in the year leaked) and then because my September packs leaked, once again in November 2023. For those who work with these products, cleaning out a hydrocollator is not easy on the body (I'm only 5'2") and requires I recruit my husband to come to clinic and to lift and drain, and carry again after cleaning and refilling. It's a huge pain in the a$$.When I put the new packs in my hydrocollator in early December, the water immediately turned discolored and started smelling - a sign that the packs are not sealed. To be clear, I follow the directions on the packaging to presoak everything.I am in a solo private practice, these get used < 20 a week, and only by me. I know they are being handled carefully and there is no reason they should leak out of the package, or within the year. Previously I was in a hospital setting where they were not so carefully handled, and they lasted YEARS. At this price point, where they need to be replaced monthly or more frequently, it is not sustainable for someone in the healthcare industry. I have also stopped encouraging patients to purchase for home use.I am incredibly disappointed as I've come to rely on Chatanooga products, but I will look elsewhere.I welcome feedback from Chatanooga. In 2023 alone I purchased 6 packs, four packs were bought within two weeks and none of them work. This is basically a disposable product.

This works great
This was the same item used by my PT when I was in therapy. It works really well but is difficult to deal with. I rated it 5 stars because of the relief I get. You need to follow the directions exactly and if using daily find a way to keep it hot and wet all the time. Waiting for it to heat up is tiresome. A little planning ahead would take care of this. I would buy it again because it does provide better relief that other type of moist heat type pads. Be sure to order the cover at the same time. It simplifies use.

Soothing heat for a sore back
This product worked well for my husband's sore back. The problem is how to store it to use again in a year from now. Once it is soaked in water the first time, it has to stay wet or stored in the freezer. You are not instructed to let it dry out and store it in the dried condition. Considering the low price for the comfort it gives, I guess you have to buy another one for another attack of back pain. It doesn't tell you what is inside the pac, so I don't know what I am adding to the landfill if I toss it. They could be more helpful on telling me how to dry it out.

Fabulous
Have been using these for years for lower back pain. Offers great relief quickly. One thing, though... once wet they should not be allowed to dry out or they lose effectiveness. In professional chiropractors' offices they use a stainless steel tub with very hot water to keep these in between uses. A home solution I use is to put them, while they're still wet, in the freezer instead. Works perfectly to keep them in top shape between uses

Works well for me
I had a hot pack many years ago and this one is much better and well made. I use both for hot and cold and keep it in the freezer until I need it. It's much better than packing a bunch of ice cubes and it last longer when using it I also put it into water and get it nice and hot. It serves my purpose and is much better than the sticky material sold in stores which are advertised to offer pain relieve. Try out this pack. It works for me.

Junk! Don’t waste your money. They bust.
Absolute junk. Don’t buy these. They bust and make a mess inside the hydrocolator. If I could do negative stars I would. Don’t waste your money. They used to last years and now they don’t even last a month. I’ve bought them from Amazon and direct from the manufacturer and they’re all junk.
