Original Floater 07 Fishing Lures

This is a classic. The build quality is excellent, and Rapala is one of the only manufacturers that still uses traditional balsa bodies on their lures. The lure looks natural when fishing with it, it feels smooth when reeled in and consistently gets bites when the fish are active. If the bass are biting in the top to mid depth, they'll go for this. Functionally, you really can't go wrong with any Rapala lure, but this is one of my favorites. I got the Hot Olive color this time, but the silver (perch) color works well for bass, too. Get one. You'll thank yourself.

Rapala lures are great

One of my favorite lures to throw. Can catch just about anything on this lure.

I've used the rainbow trout version of this lure a few times now, and of course it's built well like all Rapala hard-body lures. I've had no luck so far fishing with it in Illinois, probably in large part because there aren't enough rainbow trout here for the game fish to recognize a lure that's supposed to resemble one of their fry. In Wisconsin, on the other hand, in lakes where trout are not unheard-of, I caught decent-sized smallmouth bass with it. So as with all artificial lures, yoru luck will vary depending on how and where you use it.

I've been out twice with this on a river and have caught dozens of fish. Tons of small rock bass, a couple of smallmouth and one very good sized brook trout. I was out last night, tried 3 different lures throughout the evening but all of the fish I caught were with this lure (perhaps nearly 20 in less than two hours). I especially like this lure in my river nearby which is fairly shallow and the floor has lots of rocks, sticks and debris. The other lures I've tried there, which dive more, would get snagged constantly, but this one didn't get snagged once because it didn't dive to the floor, it would swim just a few inches below the surface as I reeled it in. Planning to buy larger versions of this lure right now. Love it.

These are my husband's favorite fishing lures. It was a nice surprise for him and the quality is a good as it was when he was a child. Can't say that about many things!

Awesome crankbait for ultra light gear. I throw mine on 4 pound fluoro on a UL spin rod in the local ponds for the odd hour after work. Tons of bass, crappy, pickerel, and the occasional bluegill with these Rapala's. Their size makes them perfect for the smaller fish in pond. I can assure you that bigger fish will not pass on it either - they just don't happen to swim in the pond round the corner. Sizes and weights are in metric, so for those of you who grew up in the US, Myamar and Liberia, get the converters out if you want to order the right size (can't wait for your comments). So 07 refers to 7 cm or 2 3/4 inches. Good quality as you might expect - I have several that lasted more then a season without too much wear and tear - unlike some cheap knock offs where the hooks rust as soon as they see water....
