Cortas - Pickled Wild Cucumbers (Mikti), 22 Oz (500ml)

I was looking for this after returning to the USA after living awhile in the Middle East and having these pickles with sandwiches, it arrived with no issues and tastes like the old days overseas for me.

The jar seal was popped open and the juice leaked inside the bubble wrap and box but the item is not eligible for exchange or return. The pickles on the top layer that they squeeze in above the ones that are going down longways had turn pink and white so I was afraid to even taste any below it, not knowing how long the seal was open like this.

So so so good and authentic!! The hint of spicy is fantastic!

I was eager to try Cortas Pickled Wild Cucumbers after a friend recommended them to me. However, my experience fell short of expectations.Unfortunately, disappointment hit after opening the jar. The cucumbers were indeed pickled, but the overwhelming saltiness dominated any other flavors present. There was a noticeable bitter aftertaste that lingered.Texture-wise, the cucumbers lacked the satisfying crispness I associate with pickles. Instead, they were disappointingly soft, almost mushy, which detracted from the overall eating experience. I had hoped for a balance of sourness to complement the pickling, as some reviews had suggested, but I found the sourness lacking. Instead, the dominant flavor profile was one of excessive saltiness, with the bitter note adding an unwelcome layer of complexity. While taste preferences can vary greatly from person to person, Cortas Pickled Wild Cucumbers unfortunately did not meet my expectations. I appreciate the recommendation from my friend, but this particular product was not for me.

The lid was open and held in place by the bubble wrap. There was pickle juice leaking all over the packaging. Not edible and not eligible for a refund. Smells good though. 0/5 avoid

I shy away from leaving a bad review of Lebanese food that is "very hard to find on Amazon", as not to discourage sellers from importing it.Cortas Me2ti pickles (erroneously called "inedible" wild cucumbers) are generally good, freshly sealed, crunchy and have an exquisitely fresh vegetable taste, and a mildly acidic taste from the natural lactic acid/the natural fermentation process.Not these ones!These were extremely sour and old. I looked for the Expiration date, I couldn't find it. All it said on the top as LOT 007.Hope the manufacturer/seller can help here.They are not crunchy fresh. They are mildly stale but still have a crunch. The brine texture is not thick but rather water-like. That's a good indication to throw them away.Finally, the seller and/or Cortas is between a rock and a hard place. The vacuum seal is usually weak. So, they justifiably put a scotch tape to secure it during transport. However, it appears that it had been warehoused for years that the tape was impossible to remove.
