Shimano SM-CS50 Housing Stops Concave Mount

finally swapped out old downtube Shimano shifters with these and brake lever shifters and these fit perfectly over the frame square mount. these are also adjustable for fine tuning the STI shifting to really dial it in for perfect shifting. very happy with these

I'm rebuilding a steel frame bicycle. I'm converting from downtube shifters to "brifters" and needed cable stops that fit over the downtube bosses where the shifters had been mounted. These are a simple, inexpensive solution, and they're from Shimano (whose groupset I'm using). These fit the bosses and mate tight against the frame's downtube; and, they work fine. These have the cable barrel adjusters. If you're upgrading/rebuilding a steel frame bicycle, I doubt most will need the need the more expensive version with the lever/wing adjuster for fine-tuning while riding (full disclosure: I have not tried this version, but can't imagine using the adjuster). There's some confusion in choosing the right stops: Do you pick the concave or flat? If you're mounting these to a typical steel frame with 1-1/8" down tube diameter (diameter assumes it's a round tube), then you need the concave. I only wish these were available from Shimano in black or grey (possibly other anodized finishes); but then, what's the demand?

Converted my old steel road bike (Full Ultegra 600 circa 1992) to 105 "Brifters", these made the job easy and has really transformed my bike. They are well made, look good, fit perfectly, include the mounting fasteners. I also changed out the rear derailleur, rear wheel and cassette for full 10 speed gearing, as I didnt fancy sourcing used (expensive) 7 speed "Brifters" on Ebay. These little gems made the whole conversion very straightforward.

The solution I needed to update my bike with new STI shifters (brifters) from downtime shifters. Breathing new life into a classic frame.

Fit seamlessly onto the downtube shifter mount. works great!

Did the trick.

Worked as advertised and installed easily and securely. I put this on my '80s vintage Schwinn Tempo (steel, standard tubing diameters) to replace the down tube shifters as I was going to STIs on the handle bars. These units look like they belong there and the adjustment feature (twisting the grey barrels) helped me fine tune the cable tension for proper shifting.

They look OK but they didn't easily slip on to the lugs on the frame.

Fast delivery, good price, fits right and does what it's design for. There's no way around this when you want to change the type of shifters and want adjustment.
