Good DIY Option
I bought this kit because I wanted to save money by building a pergola myself while still having something nice. This kit was a big help in achieving that goal. It allowed me to keep costs down by using pressure treated lumber and doing the install myself. I would recommend this kit over some of the other options because the corner brackets have closed tops. Other lots have open tops which will let water access the cut ends of the posts. The quality of this kit is quite good considering the price. Was easy to assemble with 2 other people helping.

Good price
After looking in several websites it was the cheapest on Amazon. (I didn't want to spend a lot) They aren't heavy duty but for a modest pergola they work well. The challenge I had was fitting the 4x4 lumber in the opening because some lumber was swollen and didn't fit. I had to shave some wood off and they went right in. I did a bit more work to my pergola to make it what I wanted. Its roughly 12x16ft and the set holds it up well. I placed it on a concrete slab w anchors. Wood sold separately.

Two People, Two Weekends
The first weekend involved pouring concrete and inserting the four bases. The second was drilling two 8 foot and two 12 foot 4x4s into their bases. Zoning codes consider this a temporary structure. Beautiful and simple.

Won't last a season.
Installing these damaged the units so I couldn't return them. They look good but once they're installed they won't hold up. The welds are super cheap and tiny, the metal flexes and bends, and your entire pergola will sway in the wind. No amount of bracing will fix it. Not a quality product and certainly not worth $400. Very disappointed.

overpriced in my opinion, welds not very high quality
Overpriced in my opinion, welds not very high quality, fit & finish wasn't great, I ended up purchasing the Meruzy Stainless Steel Woodwork Pergola Kit for less money and it is better finished and stainless steel

DIY Pergola in less than 1 day for under $800 total cost
I'm very pleased with the Bjorn Woodworks Pergola Kit. I did extensive research exploring several other modular connector systems for building a pergola, but ultimately decided to go with Bjorn due to price and the modern look. I only needed the corner connector brackets, as I was anchoring into the ground with ground screws (also purchased off Amazon), so I did not need the bracket boots. All of my spans were under 10' and these corner brackets were more than adequate, and feel super solid. The inner dimension for these brackets are 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" and fit standard pressure treated 4x4 lumber perfectly. I was able to assemble our pergola in less than 1 day and, including lumber, ground screws & lighting, at a total cost under $800. This is phenomenal compared to other kits I saw that were $2K-3K. Also worth noting, this took 3 people to set up, and lifting into place was definitely the most difficult part (one on a ladder and 2 on the ground to place the final posts). Three people would be the minimum in my opinion, but four would be ideal. I recommend this product if you are a DIYer who wants a modern looking pergola. Good luck with your build!

Easy to use, nice brackets
The brackets were nice to use, my only wish is that the hardware matched the brackets. I wish that black bolts I had been provided. Also, one of the bolt heads snapped during assembly, lucky it was far enough in to the beam.I would buy again.
