Royal Sovereign 13,500 BTU, 3-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner (ARP-1314)

Good value for money!!! Cools very well... only thing wish water drain wasn’t needed

The pluses are that the unit is nicely constructed and easy to operate and it readily handles the single-garage sized gym for which I purchased it.The drawback is that the exhaust system materials are cheap, unreliable and difficult to use. Specifically, the flange that attaches the hose to the unit does not fit properly and repeatedly pops off, even when the manufacturer provided insulated tape is used to help hold it in place. The supplier replaced the original flange and while the new one fits better, the problem persists. This is made worse by the cheap plastic exhaust hose which will not stay in the connector, because the flange is not deep enough. So, the hose pops out of the flange and the flange pops off of the unit--no exhaust, no air conditioning. When the thin vinyl hose does stay in place, it radiates considerable heat, which impairs cooling. I will try to work around these issues by ordering some insulated duct and clamping it directly to the unit. My concern about this fix is that the air outlet is plastic, so one must take care not to crack it, which would necessitate replacing the entire back of the air conditioner. Why Royal Sovereign has equipped such a fine air conditioner with such a flimsy exhaust system is a mystery.

My ARP-100ES is a POS. The A/C will not kick in 99% of the time, it is about 3 years old, and not used much here in Oregon. POS ! never again this brand!

Quiet, cools the whole apartment, needs little cleaning, all around great AC.
