Regalo Swing Down 54-Inch Extra Long Bed Rail Guard, with Reinforced Anchor Safety System

I've had the 54" rail since 2022 when I was pregnant with my second baby and was transitioning my first who was barely 1.5 yrs to his own bed after having co-slept since birth. Now, we just transitioned my second baby from crib to bed and have passed this rail on to her. So it has held up for almost 4 years now with no issues at all.

I am so happy with this purchase! We have a 2 1/2 year old that graduated to a big kid bed and this keeps my baby safe from falling out of bed and feeling secure because the bed is also pushed up against the wall and has sides, similar to the crib. The extra length means he's got a couple feet at the end of the bed to climb out the side between the rail and the foot board, but not enough that he could fall out due to restless sleeping. The fabric and mesh has quite a tight fit so I don't worry about anything sliding around/off on it while my child sleeps.The installation is easy if you have a box spring (we also bought one for grandma's house and had it set up in minutes) but at our house where we have a low platform bed, we had to adjust the installation so it was a little more difficult and probably took 10 minutes from box to being installed on the bed. The plastic clips that hold the rail in place are not designed to work with a platform bed. We put an extra 1" board down below the mattress to allow the bottom clips to "catch". We also cannot lower the side rail to make the bed because of the lip on the platform frame, so I end up taking off the lower straps, changing the bedding, and then putting the attachment clips and straps back into place. It probably adds 5 minutes to changing the sheets and blankets, but since we have a twin sized mattress it's not too difficult. I purchased it knowing the challenges with using it on a platform bed and I'd do it again.

It does what it needs to do. It feels flimsy but it hasn’t failed yet. Also this picture is of it on a king bed so the width is pretty wide. It was easy to put together and tucks underneath your mattress or box spring. It’s tall enough so my son doesn’t roll off the bed.

This bed rail was a life saver when switching my little to a big girl bed! Gave me peace of mind knowing she couldn’t just roll off the side! Very easy to lower down to allow her into bed and clips right back up!

Very easy to install, I actually installed it while baby was asleep in the same room. I slid the straps into place, tightened them up and that's it! Although individually the parts of this contraption seem flimsy, after I installed it, I leaned up against this with all my 140lbs and it held up perfectly, didn't even flex. I am so pleased with this purchase. On my queen size bed, there is about a foot from the top and bottom of the bed to the rail. The flip down mechanism is what makes this product so great! There is a flip down latch on each end of the rail to flip the rail down. It even lays flat against the bottom of the bed. I was expecting to to rest at an angle away from the bed but it doesn't! Will update review with pictures tomorrow!I don't know how I slept very well with baby boy before I had this! My son is 4 months old and we are exclusively breastfeeding which seems to always turn into co-sleeping as well. I didn't want to put him between the hubby and I because hubs is a very deep sleeper. It was always a pack-n-play filled with quilts and pillows shoved up against the bed, then a really heavy pillow on the edge of the bed, then baby, then me, then hubs. That made our queen size bed verrryyyy small. With this rail, we have so much more room to sleep.

I was looking in a few places for a long bed rail and I saw the one on Babies R Us under best selling. It was cheaper through Amazon so that's why I bought it here. I read the reviews and I can see how the material could tear easily. I just made sure to assemble it slowly and I had no issues. It is a snug fit though so had to really be sure to get all the slack out of it. I was able to install it on my own although not very easily as the bed is flush to the wall to prevent the need for two rails. I will have help to double check it tonight. It seems decently solid and for a small child I am not to worried about it's affectedness. I love the length as we are using it on a full sized mattress it almost reaches from head to toe. I actually like the little extra space because it leave enough room for her to crawl out of bed on her own if needed. The swing down feature is nice and in our case really helpful in making the bed. The only thing I would have liked is if the mesh overlay material could have been thicker or seemed more heavy duty than it does, and if it had rails that went under the mattress instead of nylon. I know there are products out there with these options so if this ends up failing our expectations we will just look into those products instead.

Best invention ever.. I have multiple and they do their job effectively.
