Tiny But Mighty: Lodge's 5.5-inch Skillet
This little Lodge cast iron skillet is a gem. Perfectly sized for individual meals, it's ideal for frying eggs, paninis, or even a single serving of fajitas. The pre-seasoning is excellent, and the skillet heats evenly. It's also surprisingly heavy for its size, which helps with heat retention. This is a fantastic addition to any kitchen, especially if you're short on counter space.

Sturdy Cast Iron for Easy Egg Sandwiches
Love this. Purchase for making egg sandwiches as I grew up with my mom making delicious egg sandwiches. However, bro got the vintage one. So I ordered myself one and glad I did.Cooking with cast iron is great. This is durable and not too heavy. Read up on how to take care of cast iron if you're not familiar. It comes seasoned and will only get better after you use it.I don't put the bread on it, just the egg mixture. Butter is put in first and put the a medium flame or heat. Slap on a piece a cheese towards the end while you're at it, then just wipe it out with a paper towel after it cools. The base is 4.5 x 4.5 and the sides are aprox 7/8". Haven't tried other sandwiches but that would be a good experiment and taste testing to try. : D

Good size, seasoned for use out of the box.
I have a little sausage and eggs, yes, even though expensive right now, for breakfast. The skillet was well seasoned and allowed me to easily cook my breakfast the first time out. Very impressed, but Lodge makes great products!

Nice pan but short side walls
It's a great litte pan. Not sure on its best use though. Great for sunnyside up eggs. Scrambled eggs on the other hand are harder because of the short sides, easy to flick out food on accident.

Perfect little skillet!
Great size for just one person. I gave my big cast iron grill to my son because it was much too big and heavy. This is perfect for me, my age and meal size.

Perfect size
This little skillet is very handy. I've cooked eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches in it and nothing sticks. (I always add a little butter to whatever I have cooked.) Cast iron is always dependable. This size is very practical for single serve cooking.
