LOVE THIS PRODUCT - GOOD RICE SUBSTITUTE
I discovered this product at a local health food store near my home but it was expensive. This one from Amazon is more for the money. Very delicious and healthy and low carb if you're into low carb like I am. It does not take as long to cook as stated on the package though. It says 1 cup of Freekeh to 5 cups of water. That is ridiculous and the water takes forever to evaporate. One cup of Freekeh to about 2-1/2 cups of liquid, (water, broth, etc) is good enough. Frying it in a frying pan with sesame oil or marg first is also helpful to the flavor and sesame oil adds a little nuttiness. Adding chopped onions and your favorite herb or spice makes it even more delicious. Bon appetit.

Yes, you will have to rinse and sort bulk food. Taste requires effort
I love freekeh, and it has grown harder to find (and now that bulk foods are off limits, impossible). The Ziyad is fine, flavorful. It does need rinsing, and more than once (and bulk freekeh needs that too). Most dried foods do. This was more money than it should have been (about twice as much), but during this Pandemic, it's not absurdly overpriced. I haven't found a satisfying substitute (Bulgar almost works....but lacks that smoky bit) so I'll be back.

Great taste
Tried this for the first time recently. Could not find it in our stores, so odered online. The instructions say to rinse and removed chaf. I did not find any chaf at all, so this product seems to be well processed. It cooks like brown rice, so it takes time. I used an Instant Pot and had to experiment with the time, using the water/wheat ration found on the product package. We are experimenting wiht the Mediterranean diet, or probabl would never had heard of this kind of wheat. Especially good if cooked with chicken or vegetable broth rather than plain water.

Cancer causing chemicals!!
Label on product states "Consuming this product can expose you to chemicals which are known to cause cancer and birth defects! Seller did not allow refunds but Amazon did. Thankfully. Throwing this away. They should state this in their ad!

I've Been Looking for This!
I first learned about the delicious grain, freekeh, from Blue Apron. They sent me a little pack along with the other ingredients for a delicious meal that I have wanted to remake. I couldn't find freekeh, so tried the recipe with quinoa. Good but not the deliciousness of freekeh. I searched online; Walmart's website says that they have it, but they don't (at least at the store at which I checked). So I was glad to find it through Amazon. I made the recipe; delicious!

So tasty!
This is my first time using this brand and I finally understand why freekeh is often described as having a smoky flavour. It’s delicious. I’m switching exclusively to this brand now.
