I was excited to use these in our fireplace so I bought them for a Christmas present. We have only used them twice now and I'm not loving them. When I place a marshmallow on the end it pushes back and shortens the stick and in order to make it long and safe for the little ones again I have to pull the end back out. Now it doesn't sound like a problem the first time, but if you are doing this after already cooking something, you get burnt fingers or the kids will be too close to the fire. They are also very flimsy and a lot smaller than the picture shows. my end pieces seem to be very short and only one marshmallow fits. They work, but they aren't what I was hoping for.

I made this purchase after getting a fire table for our backyard. I was looking at several different options for roasting marshmallows and other items. I choose this item because it came with a carry case as well as multiple sticks. After the item arrived I was a bit disappointed at how flimsy the sticks are once they are pulled out to their full length. While I do not like how flimsy they become, I do like how far that they extend – a great safety feature for those little users who want to roast their own marshmallow. I decided to keep the item because of the ease of cleaning and the fact that they can be collapsed to help decrease the amount of room that they take up. These have also been great to use when we go out camping as well. The included storage bag is great for keeping them together and an easy item to pack for on the go.

I already had a set of very nice marshmallow roasting sticks, but needed more for a bigger family get-together with several kids. The telescoping feature was the deciding factor in buying these, and that is definitely convenient. However, the sticks feel really cheap in comparison to my original roasters, and I don't expect these to hold up long.Still, it gets three stars because I like being able to "compress" these to the shorter length for storage, and they come in a handy case. Handle with care, these aren't sturdy roasting sticks you'll be using for the ages.

Really works well. Had to roast hot dogs inside our home with regular sticks from trees (normally would be doing this out side but since the weather was minus 10, the grandchildren couldn't be outside. The wood sticks caught on fire (wood burning fireplace) and created quite a stir. Grandma (me) needed a solution so I went to Amazon and found this amazing Roasting King telescoping metal sticks with wooden handles. GRRREAT!! No more worries inside and I know they will be used outside as well.

It is illegal to cut any part of a tree in Texas State Parks--so no more natural marshmallow roasting twigs! This set is much better than a wooden stick and now lives permanently in our camping gear. The forks are sturdy and have held up well over many uses. They fold up small and the telescoping mechanism is strong and holds well at all lengths. The black canvas storage bag is a very nice addition.

Pretty good quality for the price. They work just fine for me. Great for brats and hot dogs. No complaints at all. The zipper bag they came in is really handy too. There was so much extra room in the bag that all my camping silverware fit in there too. Worked out great.

A bit fragile-- one ended up broken on the first use. Also, they're smooth enough where items tend to try to slight off the end of the prongs. I'd still say they're OK, but not great.

I like these because they collapse and fit easily in my RV, where space is always limited. Nice carrying case too.
