This pad was a purchase to cover our mattress from pet accidents. This size covers one whole side of a king size mattress. My father has dementia and we often have to change the bedding. My mother doesn't have any problems and doesn't want to have an extra layer on her side of the bed. I needed something that would fit easily between the sheet and the mattress pad, that wouldn't add much bulk, but would still protect the mattress pad (I was getting VERY tired of washing the mattress pad almost every day!). This size is just right to cover my dad's side of the bed and leave my mom's empty! It's very thin so it's almost undetectable but provides great protection. I haven't had to wash the mattress pad since buying the Biloban protectors! I bought several different ones from a variety of manufacturers to see which I liked the best. This one is by far the best for our needs! (And with the non-skid backing, I can put it down on the mattress pad and get the king-sized fitted sheet over it by myself without getting the Biloban sheet messed up and making wrinkles and ridges under the bed sheet.)
