I love Caldera's Sea Salt Neroli fragrance, so took a gamble on this Gilded Balsam Birch, even though it's clear from other reviews that people either really like it or don't. I was hoping for a Christmas-y Balsam Fir plus Cardamom (one of the listed ingredients, and a major spice in our Norwegian Christmas cooking/cookies!) - but it's anything but that. It just smells like generic perfume - I don't know how else to describe it - which is not something I'm fond of; and, yes, it is a very strong fragrance. You might like it! Not me. Going to take another gamble on the Rosewater Driftwood next month, since that scent has had very favorable reviews and appeals to me in name and description.I gave this product 3 stars for the labeling that doesn't match the fragrance; and for its description as "moisturizing," whereas I found it to be quite drying to my already-dry skin. I actually do think it's a good value for its size, if you like the fragrance and aren't counting on it to moisturize.

I love the scent. My son and husband hate it so it’s definitely a personal preference. My husband isn’t a “manly man” and loves candles, linen sprays, and other scented items (he’s usually the one bringing it home) but he swears this smells like vomit to him. I continue to buy it for myself and daughter and the males of the house have their own.The aloe vera, olive oil, and essential oils in it prevent my hands from drying out so it’s a good everyday soap. However I use a harsher anti bacterial soap still for the dirtier times instead of this because I’m not convinced it gets my hands sanitized. Thus I am only giving it 4 stars.I have all the products in this scent but do not care for the others honestly. The counter spray has a degreaser in it but not a sanitizer - they added ingredients into the cleaning products for actual cleaning purposes understandably that have a scent that over powers the pear, like eucalyptus or something.Someone said packaging was different so they believed it was fake. I have bought direct from Caldrea many times and the packaging has varied from them too.

I love this soap its the only one I can get my family to use- it has a pleasant but not overpowering scent. BUT- this is priced as a 2 pack and amazon just sent it to me as single units. So Im shortchanged. I can't find any contact info to get the additional units or a refund.

My hands were falling apart, skin broken open by the rawness of the soap I was using on my hands. I wash my hands at least 50 times a day. Not only do I have a Service Dog that I interact with 24/7 hours a day but also to be careful with my health. I love the subtle clean longevity of the scent Pear Blossom Agave, so satisfying. Do your hands a favor and sooth them with Caldrea Hand Soap.

Love the Gilded Balsam scent - yes it is perfumey. I have eczema on my hands and this is the only hand soap I’ve tried that not only doesn’t irritate my skin, but also makes my skin softer. Suds up very well, only have to use a small amount. I’ve accepted the high price because it works so well and the smell is amazing

Based on the product description and reviews I was expected something different. The scent is tolerable but not especially pleasant. I would not describe it as citrusy. Rather it is sort of perfumy/flowery and has a sort of cheap "public rest room soap" sort of smell. There is nothing special about the soap itself. As packaged, it leaked a little bit in the shipping box.

Pear Blossom Agave is a little too floral and sweet for me. I prefer a crisper, clean, citrusy, woodsy scent. I ordered the laundry detergent in the Sea Salt Neroli scent and that one smelled much better for my preferences!

i've used caldrea products for years and always loved them... until this one. it's very potent/strong, and smells like cheap cologne. i've washed my hands a couple more times, and it still stinks like a flashy car salesman from three feet away.
