It even has little feet!
This glass dish is exactly what I was looking for. The plants in the pic are carnivorous plants who like to live submerged in water. I had them in a plastic dish, but it had gotten all slimy with algae. I wanted to get a snail to eat the algae, but I was afraid to have the snail living in plastic. The new glass dish will make a lovely home for a snail, and maybe even some floating water plants! I was surprised and pleased to note that the dish came with little silicone feet so neither the dish nor my window sill will get scratched up. Slightly beveled top edge means no fear of getting cut on a sharp edge.

Perfect for "long and low" arrangements
This is perfect for a table, mantel, or island arrangement. Flowers, decorations, candles would look good in this. Versatile enough to serve a stack of cookies on a buffet or store toiletries in your bath.

Planter
I use this for planting lucky bamboo. Holds up well with rocks in it and water.

Nice quality vase
Nice quality vase. I actually bought this because I wanted a low nano tank where I could grow aquatic plants without having to spent more than I needed to for something that was 10 gallons or more (some of the low and wide tanks made specifically for fish tanks can be expensive especially factoring along with lighting that may or may not be good enough for the plants in question.)Can also be used as a temporary holding tank for some fish, or it can be used for housing smaller critters like shrimp or 1-2 small tropical fish (that don't grow any bigger than .5-1in.)I was a bit daunted when I calculated how many gallons of water this tank could theoretically fit (their is an adage with aquarium owners that one should have at least 2 gallons for every 1in of a critter.) But to my surprise, the amount of space that a critter can swim through in this is fairly decent compared to how they are often housed while in a store (like bettas that are kept in small cartons.)More care must be taken if a person wants to house an aquarium critter in this vase (and Goldfish and many types of Cichlids are to absolutely not be housed in this vase.)

Great for centerpieces!
We used 2 of these to make a centerpiece of our coffee table. Initially we had them filled with water for floating candles (didn't leak one bit and looked very nice) and then eventually settled on just filling them with sand and seashells with candles in the center (our dog discovered the water was drinkable and being he's the perfect height, he decided to make it his new water dish when we weren't looking). This item is the perfect size for a coffee table center piece or a small planter for inside. I won't say it feels like the most sturdy thing in the world, but it doesn't feel weak at all (I'm likely just paranoid about it breaking like I am with all glass items). If it I didn't have faith in its construction, I never would have filled it with water and left it on my table, let's put it that way. No complaints whatsoever.

Great for potting epiphytes!
I bought this vase for repotting my epiphyte curly cactus and I'm super pleased! The packaging was superb, the vase sturdy but not too heavy, and the vase has little nub feet perfect for ensuring the base wouldn't get scratched on whatever surface. I've been wanting to repot this plant for some time and now that it's been a couple weeks, can say it's quite happy with this setup. For those interested, I have shells, sphagnum moss, aerating straws, and soil. The glass helps me identify how much water is added/hydration level as well as being able to see the soil/roots and generally better gauge how the plant is doing. Thank you for this excellent product (:
