Classic Manga. Amazing story. Be prepared to jump from vol.2 to Vol.4.
Pluto is an amazing manga retelling of the most famous Astro-Boy story. You will be hooked as you read the first two volumes, that will cost you about 12-15 dollars each, but there's a chance you won't be able to read volume 3 that is currently unavailable unless you are willing to pay up to $300! I have the whole series, except for volume three. I should have been more aware. Buyer Beware!!!

Excellent! Compelling! A manga masterpiece continued
Volume 2 of Pluto continues detective Gesicht's search for the murderer of two famed robots as well as human victims of an unknown assailant. What propels this second volume is the appearance of Atom, a young boy robot better known to Americans as Astroboy. Atom is given by Naoki Urasawa the appearance of a real boy who gets excited seeing the latest new, cool toy and likes ice cream like any other, but doesn't know why and shrugs it off like any other, too.Yet Urasawa has also given his revamped Atom an underlying maturity and understanding that are well beyond any young kid, as well as a powerful scene of Atom shedding tears in a restroom after learning a dark secretabout Gesicht. This volume shows how this series keeps getting better and has the emotional punch to make you want more right now! Definitely a five star achievement!

It is created by Urasawa, meaning that it is bound to be fun and interesting to read
As expected, I enjoyed the story very much. I did not like the postscript by Tezuka’s son, as it sounded condescending. I hope that it was a matter of translation and that Tezuka’s son did not write such condescending postscript in Japanese.

How can I get you all to read this?
It's psychologically complex. It's well-drawn in a style that is neither too cartoony nor too realistic, but convinces one of the integrity of the universe presented. The characters live and breathe. The story is developing into quite the thriller. It's manga meets Blade Runner meets Miracleman. In the second volume we meet Atom (better known in the west as Astroboy). The way Atom is written, the way that he affects the other characters by his very presence, is inspiring. His innocence and child-like appearance belies the fact that he is the most complicated robot in the world. And he cries. It is such a wonderful scene.Meanwhile the killer claims his next victim. Again, we only see the blank spaces of the battle but it is titanic. Also, the story of the 39th Central Asian war becomes more complicated. We begin to see that the seven greatest robots in the world are tied together by the time they spent in the war.Gesicht discovers something is wrong with his past. And we're introduced to Dr Roosevelt. Who looks like a teddy bear.I really can't explain to you how excited this series has me. It makes me feel like a child, but is written at such a level that I know I can only get it because I'm an adult. It's like I'm discovering Halo Jones again.I do not know how to express how great this is. But it really is. It's science fiction written by a humanist.
