French Press Coffee Maker by Real People 8 Cup 32 oz Coffee Tea Maker with Stainless Steel Plunger Glass and Stainless Steel Construction Comparable to Bodum Coffee Makers

When the press arrived, it was pretty light in the box and I wondered whether the box really contained the press. After opening, yep, it was in there, and I was a little concerned that the quality might not be up to par, it being so light.To my surprise and relief, after unboxing I found found the glass beaker firmly secured by the metal bands, and the handle felt nice and rigid.After watching some home-kitchen videos on the best french presses available, it looked like preference was always for those with a rubber or silicone gasket on the plunger.This morning I ground up some coffee, poured my piping hot water in, let it sit a bit, and plunged it down, expecting some coffee bits to sneak in around the edges. I'm happy to say no coffee bits snuck through, the wire mesh and spring gasket worked perfectly.There are two points of criticism I have for the product. The first, is that the plunger doesn't seem to plunge all the way down. Maybe there's a design reason they do this, maybe they don't want you bending the plunge rod by pressing the plunger into the coffee grounds at the bottom. I'd prefer being able to press it all the way down though.Secondly, the spout and opening at the top have a painfully slow pour rate. This morning as I'm trying to get my travel mug full I can hear the tick of the clock mocking me as I stand there and wait for my coffee to transfer.Oh yeah, I was also nervous of the size, yes when I ordered I saw that it's a ~32oz capacity, but when I went to make coffee I thought to myself "this is not going to be enough coffee". And the truth is, yes if I were sitting at home for the morning, I'd have to make at least two full presses full to meet my consumption needs. And more if Her Majesty got out of bed and wanted any. But when I tested the capacity, filling my travel mug first with boiling water and transferring the boiling water into the press I realized there was plenty of room for even another travel mug portion! Awesome!I'll be using this pretty frequently, and I can't wait to give it a try with tea.

Very nice way to make coffee for two, anytime of day with this French Press!A contemporary, well-built, firm, light, and grippy piece for the kitchen.My wife likes it too and she is petite, while I on the other hand am 6'2 200 lbs, but I still feel manly and she still feels cutesy.I drink about an 18 oz pour so we just split it and go about our business.Thanks Real People!

For the past two weeks I have used this product. Very poor performance. 1. The plunger came apart and was hard to reassemble. 2. One of the metal straps was bent so that the carafe couldn't be removed for cleaning. 3.Coffee grounds got caught between the straps and the glass.I had a Bodum product for at least 5 years and it had to be replaced because I broke the glass. It was trouble free and I want to order another one.I didn't save the picking box and need instructions about returning it.Thank you. [email protected]

This French press is pretty good except for one thing. The plastic cap that is on top of the plunger that you push down broke after the second use. That was really the only part that didn't seem too sturdy and it showed. Other than that, it works as advertised.

How do I love thee?I received my French press about a month ago and my husband and I enjoyed several pots of delicious coffee daily. This French press was easy to use, easy to clean, and looks nice on my counter.The bad news is that a few days ago, I knocked the lid off the counter and the plunger knob broke off on the hard tile floor. Of course, this was completely my fault and I valiantly attempted to fix it. While the press would still work, it was more difficult to actually "plunge" the lid with the knob broken off. None of my fixes worked, so I first searched for a replacement piece online, but the cost would be almost as much as purchasing a new one.Now, the best part. I finally emailed the company with my tale of woe, explaining my clumsiness. I received a prompt reply that they would have no problem with a replacement. Little did I know, they did not just mean a new piece, but an entirely new French press. It arrived today (I emailed them 2 days ago) and will be happily making coffee again tomorrow.Great product, great company! I'm a happy customer.

Broke before a year was out.

We are a family owned bakery with quite a large coffee crowd. We decided to add a French Press option to our coffee menu. We ordered 2 of the 32 oz. to start out with. These arrived a few days after ordering and are perfect for our needs. We also ordered a 12 oz. size from another company and that ended up being too small. This size is perfect. Keep in mind that when they say an 8 cup, they are thinking 4 oz. servings. This style is also easy to clean, looks great in our bakery and seems to be pretty durable. If you are new to making a French Press, I would recommend watching a UTube video on the exact process and have the correct grind of coffee to get the perfect cup. Enjoy!

Great French press! I've been using it for a while and I'm very happy with it. I just didn't give it 5 stars because the holder is not 100% aligned, so when I pour the coffee into a mug it does not go straight ahead - it actually falls a little to the right, so I gotta be careful when pouring it. Other than that, it's a very good product.
