We have an old, old, old lamppost that finally the lamplight fell off!! Oh my, I did not want to spend hundreds to get an electrician to come and rewire this old, old, old lamppost. I like solar gadgets and got this lamppost light. It fit the lamppost pole perfectly! No wiring required. The light comes on at dusk and it's on until the morning sunrise! It doesn't light up the whole driveway, but all I need is an indicator as to where the house and driveway are. It does the job!!

Our sixteen year old post lantern stopped working. We replaced the bulb - nope. Replaced the sensor - nope. Now we were thinking of replacing the wiring, but that would require digging up the long wire run to the house. Instead, we decided to get this unit and we are glad we did.The unit comes substantially assembled. It comes with two ways to install it. Since we had an existing 3" pipe, we used that. It also comes with an adapter so you can install it on top of a 4 by 4 post. There are also spare screws and other pieces in case you drop something - which we ended up not needing.It comes in white or black. Our old unit was white, so we selected the white version. It surprised me to see how few white units are out there. Apparently white is no longer popular as Black and Bronze predominate. Nonetheless, since I did not want to replace, or paint, the existing pipe, white it is!The instructions tell you to leave it out in the sun for 24 hours before installing it to make sure the solar batteries get fully charged up. We left it on our deck in a really sunny spot. The next evening, we flipped the switch and were rewarded with immediate light!Installation was then very simple. We removed the old lantern; capped the wires that were connected to it. Put the new lantern on top of the pipe and tightened the three screws. That's it.That night, we made sure to look out and we saw that it was working. It is not the very brightest light, and it is relatively small, but given what we are using it for those are not faults - just observations.

Took two tries. Pair for Lamp plus mounting ring. First one arrived broken and without ring. Second one arrived intact but with no ring. Had to buy ring separately and it still has not arrived.

Have ordered a few of these, 2 worked great but one wouldnt hold a charge. Initially I though that maybe it was the batteries but after replacing the batts, its clearly a charging issue. Amazon took it back as the manufacturer warranties it for a year.For the ones that worked it provided a decent amount of light when it comes on. Size is a tad smaller than expected but it wasnt a problem.

After receiving a broken glass panel the reordered solor light arrived with no issue. I charged it for a day before putting it on the post. It really looks nice and lights my walkway. So far I give this a thumbs up. Size seems fine other people say it was small, seems fine to me. It's metal and glass no plastic. Screws that attach to the pole are very tiny, I hope it stays secure with the winds.
