Fast charging, easy use and practical car charger

Bought this as USB charging in the car seemed slow. This is quicker. How much I don’t know. Glad to have something in the car. Always forget a cable. Now this is not an issue. One happy buyer.

First let’s get something out of the way. This is not classed as a ‘fast charger’ although it will charge your iPhone quicker than the standard Apple charging plug. It is usual Belkin quality, and although plastic it is very nicely put together. It feels like it will last a very long time in my car. I have a Škoda and it fits the 12v accessory port in my car very nicely and never works it’s way out. As Škoda is part of the VW & Audi Group I doubt you will have any fit issues in any of their other cars (VW, Audi, Škoda, Seat, Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini) because everything comes out the same parts bin regardless of vehicle brand. Yes that might be a revelation to some people that your posh Audi has the same bits inside and underneath to my lowly Škoda. Just go and look at my VW badged engine, 4 Audi ringed brakes, and internal switches that are exactly the same as my friends Audi Q5 S-line. Any way back on topic, my iPhone charges a lot quicker with this than the standard plug. On my 40 minute commute home it usually takes my iPhone 8+ from about 30% up to 75%. It has no problem keeping it at 100% on long journeys whilst using my phone as a sat nav system. The only bad point I have about this plug was I did have to buy a longer Lightning cable to reach from my centre console to where I have my phone in a cradle as a sat nav. Although excellent quality, the cable that came with it just wasn’t long enough and needed another 30 cm. I have two cables in mine now, one so that my child can charge their Android phone in the back and another for mine in the front. The little white led power indicator is not obtrusive or distracting during night time driving either. If you need a plug that sits flush with your accessory socket you will need to look elsewhere as this does stick out a bit. In summary I highly recommend this Belkin double USB-A charging plug. If you need USB-C, fast charging, or Quick Charge enabled, then you will need to look elsewhere.

I have only been using this car charger for a short time but it is working very well and I love that it comes with it on cable so I don’t need to take one from the house.
