Sweet Sage and Spence
his the second book in the Unexpected Heroes series. I love Melody Anne when she is writing series like these when the grandparents get together and match make. Sage has had a crush on Spence since like forever. She is 8 year behind him in school and even told him she loved him when he came home from college. How embarrassing is that. She has gone off to college and has to decide where to go to med school. Her grandma has raised her after her parents and grandfather were killed in a freak car accident. Her grandma tricks her into coming home to go to med school by letting her think she is sickly and needs to have her close by. On her way home Sage gets into a car wreck. The first responder happened to be .... Spence (who did not recognize her at all). This was a really great read and I can not wait to see who gets matched up next. Hope Ms Melody Anne writes fast as I am impatiently waiting for more from her.Sandi from Flipped My Pages

Unexpectedly Disappointed
First and foremost I'm a HUGE, HUGE fan of Melody Anne. From the Billionaire series to Surrender series to the Bound series I fell in love with each book. In each of these books I could feel the emotions of the characters. However, this was not evident in this book. I could not connect with the H/h. I was truly disappointed with Spense. His character came across as wishy, washy. At first professing not to marry before the age of 40 then to court and woo Sage and then dismissing her publicly in front of an old friend who called Sage...Page. And to make matters worse Sage's response to the his actions. I guess that scene was the male/female conflict. To me this is not make sense. This was the first unexpected heroes book I purchased despite the higher than usual price of Melody's kindle books. I do understand that it's the publisher who sets the market price. However, I do not plan on purchasing the other past or future books in this unexpected series if this quality of book for the above average cost.

Missing something!
I thought this book was a nice intro/set up for the next book in the series (Cam & Grace). I just could not feel the love these characters were supposed to have and quite frankly I didn't like either of them as individuals most of the time to be honest. Some of their banter was fun and entertaining...but I was more interested in the love triangle that seems to be going on with Martin and his co-conspirators and what was up with Cam and Grace!***SPOILER ALERT***When Spence made the bet I thought that might be a factor in the climax...but it is never really brought up again. So I didn't understand its place in the story...other than to tie in other characters. I also seemed to miss the part where Sage wanted to find her Prince Charming. I thought she wasn't looking for one and was all about her career...so what was the meaning behind the theme of the gifts...other then to show off Spence' s wealth? Sage seemed to hit the nail on the head when she called him out on trying to buy her love...that was how I felt it came across...nothing screamed meaningful or romantic to me because there was no connection between Sage and the gifts.I was also lost on the whole hot tub debacle and what happened after that...again a missed chance at developing the connection between the characters. How many times is Sage going to let Spence reject her? For such a strong, smart, independent woman Sage allows herself to treated like a tool and is willing to come back for more again and again. Then when Spence introduced Sage as his "friend", sends her home alone while he hangs out with another woman and does't contact her when he says he will...then he turns around and wants Sage to move in with him and get married the next time he does see her and she just let's that go without another thought just because he says they never were involved (even though we are lead to believe they were or that this other woman would like to be) but Sage gets totally pissed about the meddlesome trio setting the stage for them to get together and runs out on Spence...I felt like I missed a few chapters! Which is basically how I felt about most of the book...like I was missing pages of the whole story.I am looking forward to the next book...I am really intrigued about what is going on with Grace and the histroy between her and Cam. I also hope that we find out just what is going on with Martin and his ladies! Hopefully I won't be left feeling like I only got part of the story with that book too!

Her hometown Hero
A great story of love yearned for and found but not recognized and almost lost. Except for the interference of family members who refused to let the love birds turn from each other.

First loves heartbreak, comes back to town.
Spence is a very successful surgeon and loves being single. Sage is returning to the small town she grew up in to finish her medical training . Sage and Spence have unfinished business, Spence didn't even remember who she was when he saw her. He broke her heart as a teenager and comes back to do it again. For a intelligent man he has no common sense. Sage is very immature for a smart doctor but a lot of hers ignorance is because she has no life experiences . It as a cute story but the characters are just to stupid to be believable.

Her Hometown Hero
Spence and Sage made a cute couple in this book. The setting is beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous in Montana. Then they spend part of their time in Seattle, so there is more scenery. There are some interesting characters in this book and it was good to find this sequel to the first book I'd read. You'll definitely like this book.
