Da ich das Kabel erst frisch gekauft habe kann ich natürlich noch nicht über die Langzeit-Haltbarkeit berichten. Ich verwende dieses Kabel für den Anschluss eines externen BlueRay Laufwerkes, ausserdem passt das Kabel auch für diverse USB-Drucker, USB-Scanner oder auch mein älteres Arduino-Mega-328 Entwicklungsboard von Velleman. Geliefert wird das in Hongkong gefertigte Kabel in einem wiederverschließbaren Kunststoffbeutel mit Ziplock Verschluss. Das Kabel selbst ist mit Gewebe umsponnen, macht einen sehr robusten Eindruck und sieht auch gut aus. Sowohl der Typ-A Stecker (typischer Computer-Anschluss) als auch der Typ-B Stecker (der mittlerweile etwas seltenere Geräteanschluss für Drucker etc.) besitzen eine sehr steife Zugentlastung, ein Knickschutz ist auf beiden Seiten also eher nicht vorhanden. Es empfielt sich also, das Kabel nicht allzu stark an den Steckern abzuknicken, da sonst einzelne Verbindungen abreißen könnten. Optisch machen die vergoldeten Stecker auf beiden Seiten natürlich schon etwas her, ob die Vergoldung allerdings für die elektrische Übertragungsqualität des Kabels überhaupt einen Einfluss hat wage ich allerdings zu bezweifeln. Für die Funktion des USB-Kabels sollte sie normalerweise nicht nötig sein. Viel mehr ist es wichtig, die Steckkontakte sauber zu halten und nicht Staub und Feuchtigkeit auszusetzen. Mein Fazit zu dem Kabel: Es scheint ordentlich verarbeitet zu sein, macht einen wertigen Eindruck und dürfte auch von der Signalqualität gut sein. Bisher habe ich noch nichts wirklich negatives an dem Kabel entdecken können und halte es für eine preiswerte und zuverlässige Lösung. Empfehlenswert!
