Close but...
I eat sushi on a regular basis and one of my favorites it Unagi. I could eat it all day everyday and anything made with it is also my favorite. I have been making sushi for myself, mostly salmon rolls, for about a year so when I saw that I could purchase eel I was excited. When the package arrived, I expected more in the way of the product. I was a little disappointed. First, it was hell getting the can open because it has an unusual shape and I had to resort to my manual can opener, yes I use a hands free one. ;-) Second, the look, texture and taste were nothing like I eat at the sushi bars. There were bones in it that were easily chewed but that is not the norm. The sauce was slightly off from the typical eel sauce that is used. Needless to say, I was not too happy with what I bought but I adapted and took the lead from another purchaser and used it to top a bowl of rice for a quick meal/snack. Bottomline. I resembles the sardines and anchovies more that unagi. I would recommend getting the actual eel that you will need to prepare to a certain degree (slice and toast) if you are a stickler like me. I would buy this again but I know what I will be using it for which is a doable alternative.

Not the Unagi I was hoping for
If you seek real sushi-grade Unagi, search Amazon for that, and be prepared to pay more, for instance $75 (plus $25 shipping -- frozen) for Frozen Barbequed and Marinated Farmed Fresh Water Eel (Unagi) - Four 11oz Pieces, which I have not tried, but is probably the sort of stuff I want. The item being reviewed here is okay compared to never eating eel, but it is tougher, probably overcooked, and far less succulent than the genuine article offered by sushi chefs. Another alternative Roland Smoked Eel Fillets, Boneless, Soybean Oil 3.66-Ounce Cans (Pack of 10) gets highly variable reviews, and is packed in OIL (yuck!), clearly not the real Unagi that I seek.

Don't Expect Sushi Bar Unagi
I LOVE Unagi Nigiri or Sashimi. So I decided to try to find eel online. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this. It actually comes in a sauce, has bones/spines, and made me say, "Ehhh," when cracking open the can for the 1st time. Upon tasting it, it was just okay -- Not horrible, but definitely not an "enthusiastic GOOD." Since I bought 4 cans, I didn't want to waste it. So I tried it today, as a salad topper, on Kale with other toppers like boiled egg, olives, pickles -- It was GOOD that way. Mixed reviews here. Definitely not like eating the real deal.

Horrible
This eel was hard and dry little pieces, looked like infant eels. Looked like 4 spinal bone collum's. Had to throw out and was a 4 pack. They do not accept returns; wow can't imagine why. Would never recommend or buy again. Shame on you for packaging such awful product.
