Awesome incubator, would definitely buy again!
Awesome incubator, acceptable pricing and it does works!! However, you should definitely get an external thermometer, and a humidity reader, just in case. My first time and already got 75% hatching rate. And I even forgot about it until I heard the peeps at night. Lol!! And they are strongvand healthy!! I definitely recommend this incubator.

This incubator killed the eggs! DO NOT BUY!!!!!
Already into day one. I set Temperature at 100%. Digital Temperature and humidity gage says 95%. Humidity is off the charts, even AFTER I removed all moisture and water i had placed in middle tray, per instructions to get a 45-50% humidity. The egg turner is questionable, the only time I've seen it turn was during the test run. I have 12 serama eggs in this incubator I purchased from a reputable breeder, and these eggs were quite expensive. My fault for trusting a brand new incubator I've never used. So, its only day one, going on day two...but so far, I am feeling doubts that I will get any live chicks out of this incubator. See photo attached. Incubator says 100%. Separate temperature devise says 95%. 2 hours later, after fussing with this incubator...all I have to say is, it will be an act of God if these eggs hatch.

It works! our chicken eggs hatched in 28 days
The media could not be loaded. I was extremely skeptical when my spouse decided to purchase this item. We only had one hen go broody, but he has a abundance of fertiled eggs so he decided to try this approach. On day 27 we had 4 baby chicks hatch and today is day 28 and we have 3 more hatching. He placed 16 eggs and thus far 8 have hatched.I can truly now say that this thing works. He told me he made sure to add water everyday and keep It at 99o the entire time.

9/11 hatched on our first round of eggs!
The media could not be loaded. This was an excellent first incubator for us! Although this next round I’m definitely buying a humidity meter for it. My humidity I’m sure was never what it was supposed to be, the instructions are so unclear and impossible to know if it was too high or low. I ultimately kept the middle two trays full the first 18 days then bumped it up to all of them full the remainder of the days. I didn’t use a humidity gauge and somehow had a successful hatch! So the humidity channels must work somewhat accurately.. but it had me nervous up until they started hatching. I think the key is just not to run it the whole time with the humidity channels totally full, let it go completely dry at any point after it is running and to be sure to increase humidity last few days. One chick that didn’t make it was definitely due to human error sadly.. It fell a few inches on to the black divider piece while putting it back in after candling. The egg grew a few more days then became unviable. The other egg that didn’t make it was viable with clear movement until hatching day. I assume it was unable to pip its way out. We candled every few days until day 18. I found it easiest using a small flash light, the one on the incubator was unusable. I do wish I had seen someone’s YouTube video about rug grip under the eggs after you remove the rotation piece on day 18 before mine had started hatching. My chicks hatched over the course of 3 days so I had chicks slipping and rolling unhatched eggs around while they were wet and drying. One of the nine had slightly splayed leg and curled toes, which I guess is often caused by the slippery incubator floor tray. I was able to open and close the incubator for candling and when chicks were switched to the brooder without disrupting the temperature of the incubator. I would tip the lid part way open, grab egg/chick and quickly close again. Our crested cream legbars eggs hatched day 18, which was a big surprise. Our Brahma, RIR, and Faverolles all hatched one by one over the next few days following.I am about to start incubating another dozen in it! I recommend this as a nice quality step up from the your basic incubator! Hopefully now that we have gotten through the learning curve with this incubator, hopefully we can get 100% hatch rate!

Disappointed
This didn’t keep the correct temperature. There isn’t anything to let you know the humidity. The top was hard to get a good seal and I had to keep a heavy book on top to try to keep it sealed. The wheel that helps rotate the egg basket kept falling off and I ended up making sure the eggs were rotated manually. I did luck out and got one duckling to hatch. Decided to try some new eggs and now all it does is beep and even the candler light won’t come on. I wouldn’t recommend this one. I hope my eggs stay viable until the new incubator comes in.

Super impressed
**Update**All 5 eggs hatched! We did 5 eggs for our first run, to avoid wasting eggs in case something went wrong, especially after reading some of these super negative reviews. We currently have 3 hatched and a 4th has pipped. We are so excited to hatch a full incubator next time. This product is so easy to use if you read the instructions, have the settings adjusted properly, and check on your eggs regularly, adding more water as necessary. I do recommend keeping the Styrofoam as others have suggested to help insulate the incubator. We did place our own hygrometer, but have had zero issues with the incubator holding appropriate heat or humidity levels.
