No more burnt quesadillas!
I got this because I kept burning quesadillas I was making in the skillet. This works like a charm. My son is also able to use it to make quesadillas for himself.

This Works...but
This Quesadilla Maker does work. However, I couldn't get the lid to stay open by itself as pictured. I had to ask my husband to hold the lid while I made the Quesadilla. It did make good Quesdillas. However, they were a little dry and brittle. I sprayed a little oil and water under the bottom one and on the top one before pressing. The wraps came out considerably better that way. The grease catcher seems to be a little useless as I can't imagine what it's supposed to catch. The instructions come in Spanish... so, if I'm doing something wrong, I have no idea. The picture where the parts are numbered and identified is in English... weird... rest is in Spanish with no English version to go with it. So, if you have had one before and know how to use it properly, this will work for you. It is attractive. As far as I can tell, it does not disassemble for washing. It wasnn't difficult to wash though. Couldn't immerse the thing in water, but it was easy to wash up with a soapy rag and then hold each side in the water for rinsing. Getting the whole thing out of the pan and on to a plate was a bit difficult. I guess I need a larger spatula to hold the thing together. Cut nicely though once on a serving plate. I would not recommend this as a child friendly appliance as I feel it's easy to spill or burn yourself when assembling or removing your Quesadilla. I had the idea that my grandsons might enjoy making their own snacks with this... I don't think so, though. I'll make them for them at least until they're more coordinated!! Right now they're still in that awkward stage where they don't seem to know where their hands and feet end and begin, always tripping over things or knocking things over.

I WANT MY OLD QUESADILLA MAKER BACK!!
I got rid of my old Santa Fe quesadilla maker because the plastic latch on the top had gotten brittle and was cracking and crumbling off; otherwise, it still worked perfectly. Now I wish I had it back. I tried to order a replacement on Amazon and the Santa Fe brand wasn't available - I was recommended this one instead.Problem #1: The first time I used it, I prepared the quesadillas the way I always had and apparently this quesadilla maker isn't as deep because all the cheese squished out the sides creating a huge mess. Which led to problem #2. The next time I used it, I didn't put as much filling in the quesadillas, but it still cooked out and ran over the sides. It's just not deep enough to make a good quesadilla.Problem #2: This quesadilla maker is NOT easy to clean up. It is coated with a non-stick surface (of sorts) but it is definitely not completely non-stick. There was LOTS of sticking! Also, it has a drip catcher and the outer edge has a groove to catch the grease and melted butter, but there isn't enough decline on the groove and the melted butter and grease just sit in the groove. It doesn't run down toward the drip hole. Once the quesadilla maker is cool enough to clean it, all the grease has solidified. I ended up having to spray it down with soapy water and use a wooden kebab skewer to clean out where it had overflowed into the sides of the quesadilla maker.Problem #3: The third time I used it the plastic latch popped off as I was unlatching it when the quesadilla was done. I tried to put the latch back on when the machine cooled down but I can't get it to go back on. I can't tell if it's broken or if it's because the plastic was more pliable when it was hot and now that it's cooled it is too stiff. Regardless, I can't get the latch back on so the quesadilla maker is useless to me right now.I looked up my order and the return window closed 2 weeks ago (figures!) or I would have returned it. I am NOT satisfied at all with this product.
