I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.So far, a very good speed rope. I would have preferred to give it 4.5 stars, but Amazon doesn't allow that, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.I mention the gauge of the rope itself in the title of the review. This is my first speed rope, but comparing it to my wife's two ropes and all the speed ropes hanging at my gym, this one is just slightly heavier than those I could find for comparison. This would mean the rope will be "less speedy" than those thinner ropes, but would be easier to "sense" as it moves through the arc. As such, this rope may not make you the most blindingly fast jumper, but may prove an excellent "bridge rope" between heavier and lighter models.Construction seems solid. The handles are plastic, but seem thick enough to stand up to getting stepped on when stumbling around mid-workout. As mentioned, the rope is a heavier gauge, coated wire. Adjustment of the length of the rope is easily accomplished with the thumscrews.My only concern: the thumbscrews are wider than the body of the collar they secure, so each time the wire rotates the thumbscrew rubs against the white plastic bit at the end of the handle. I can't sense any hitch in the spin of the rope, but may see if I can find a standard screw with a smaller head diameter once I'm sure I have the rope's length figured out. So, would have dropped half a star for this, but can't bring myself to drop a whole star given the fact that I can't feel any break in the rhythm caused by the design of the thumbscrew.The results: the move from my past rope to this one is a bit of a big jump. I'm going to need to adjust to this faster rope. That said, it seems to spin fine and the added weight of the rope seems to help me sense where it is in the arc, so that I can adjust my jumping and swinging accordingly.

I have had this for a while now, and I have been using this daily. I forgot how much fun it was to jump rope. Now, that I am older I can use this for fun and still be able to drop pounds. Now, I am usually super uncoordinated, so I was a little iffy on getting this. I am 30 years old, and not as young and coordinated like I used to be when I used to jump rope when I was in grade school. I have also had three kids, so I have a little pudge. Other mothers know what I mean when I say have three kids, and stuff happens when I jump hahah! My brother owns a Do Jo, and wants me to start boxing competitively. This has been such a great product for my training. I have to drop a few pounds and this is going to help me so much. This ProCardio Speed Jump Cable Rope is amazing! It is thin, but not too thin. It is very high quality. I do believe that this product will last a very long time. My daughter is started Tae Kwon Do, and she has been using this as well. She is loving this jump rope. What I really like about this ProCardio Speed Jump Cable Rope is that it does not get tangled. Most of the other jump ropes that I have purchased have always gotten kinks, and tangled. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I am going to suggest to my brother that he order a few of these for the Do Jo. This would be a great addition to any home or gym.
